HDMI cables connected. No picture or sound.

I bought a Pioneer VSX-820-K and am having issues with hdmi connectability.
I am connecting a PS3 and a samsung hd cable box to the receiver. Then the receiver to a Samsung LED TV. I have hooked all the components together via HDMI cables and am not getting picture or sound. I believe I made all the correct connections.
PS3 to BD in on receiver.
Cable to TV/SAT in on receiver.
HDMI out on receiver to TV.
The whole system works when connected to the receiver via component cables but not HDMI. I have try many different source and setting changes with no results. Any thoughts?

Is this the first time you have used this PS3? You have to connect the PS3 using the original cable (composite or component? the one that comes in the box) so that you can get an image on the screen, then set it up to output video and audio via HDMI. It doesn't happen automatically.

No. I had the PS3 hooked to the tv via hdmi before i got the receiver. If I connect the PS3 or cable box to the tv via hdmi it works. Its when i try to go PS3 or cable box to receiver to tv via hdmi that it doesnt work.

Did you try to swap out HDMI cables a/o different inputs (HDMI1, HDMI2, etc)?

Did you go into the setup menu and configure it for HDMI?
