ok, so my friend is gonna have a party and he put me in charge of audio equipment. the party will be at the top of a very large hill that used to be a landfill. so we wont have any power outlets so i have to find a way to power a pair of 6x9's on batteries . soo at first i was thinking of using my old ipod dock, but that needs to be plugged into the wall, so then i saw an old computer speaker amp on my floor. i found this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-385 i could power that with batteries but i dont think it would go very loud. any ideas on what i could do?

Just get a gas generator and you will be all set.

If you can't borrow a gas generator, I bet you can rent one for a night for less that $100

I would say also that your #1 priority should be to get a generator, or else its better to just not throw a party.

umm...... drive your car/truck up there and turn the radio on?

get some junk car amp and pull the battery out of your car to run it ;)

Take your pellet gun and have everyone take turns shooting the pioneer 6x9's. That would be more fun, don't you think?

i second the notion of using a car amp. buy a cheap used car amp from craigslist or something, and a used battery. You might have to use a long stake in the ground to ground it (not sure if you can use the negative terminal on the battery), but it should work fine. when youre done, either resell it or you can use an old computer power supply to run the amp (12v) and play with a diy sub or something equally as clever as your current projects. good luck! :)

on second thought:

what about the remote wire connection on the amp? i forgot about that... is it required?

and you should shoot the 6x9s while they are playing music. that could be cool.... or ruin your amp.... but still fun..

Remote can go straight to the POS on the battery. It will just be continuously on.

Love it!
