I got flamed a little on AVS for asking this exact same question. Glad I'm not the only one asking it!
No flaming really, just that it's only a part of the overall package and it would be wrong to judge a subwoofer's performance by the RMS of the amplifier. HSU is also known not to inflate their numbers like some other manufactures do.

If I don't DIY my next subs the VTF-15h might just find a place in my living room.;)

114db@20hz is nothing to sneeze at.

Pfft, a Mal-x 21 probably would sneeze at that! :p

Looks like a very nice sub that can do well in the space vs. the Ultra, but more importantly can live close to the price point of the 18.1 and Empire (which I think are chewing up the < $1000 ID space). The output numbers aren't too surprising given the size box and 15" woofer. The driver/amp/design efficiency are very well thought out to achieve those numbers with 350w RMS regardless of the amp's peak capability. I'd love to hear one sometime. Subtract 6dbs to matchup with 2M GP numbers. As said, it's right there with the Ultra/BASH platform regarding output with, I assume, Hsu's stellar SQ.
