I was given some of these cables, but I don't know much about them. From what I have seen online they are a European brand. The writing on the cable is "IXOS103 PC-OFC .63 Conductor Al-Mylar OFC Screened". I believe it is model 103. Here is a pic of the connector, it is ceramic.

They seem to be good quality, the other higher end cables I have are AudioQuest Ruby's. I think they are similar in quality, of couse I should listen to both. But I would like to find out what I can about them online as well.

Thanks,
Brad

Read the other threads about cables here and decide for yourself if they matter as much as the marketing departments say they do.

As for my experience with IXOS, I did a system for someone in '07 and we discussed cables and how much he wanted to spend. I thought most was BS at that time but some of their descriptions sounded plausible, so I told him I could get some of these to go from the Low Z output on the preamp to his power amp, which only has Low Z inputs. I got them and was pisssed. No name XLR connectors, a pearlescent white nylon braided mesh covering and three wires that were braided. The box was the nicest looking part of the whole thing and I couldn't hear any difference between them and my old Audio Technica mic cables. Since I do critical listening all the time, I was definitely not impressed and gave my rep an earful about what was expected vs what was delivered. I offered to return them and my client just said that I should leave them in place.

A $400 6' pair of cables that have about $20 worth of materials (I'm being generous here) is not what I consider a good product.

I am fully aware of all the "does this really make a difference" discussions in the audio industry. Basically speakers are the only piece that you won't hear people say "they are all the same". I definitely don't want this to turn into one of those arguments. I am basically curious where they fit in the hierarchy of "high end" cables. I know where my Ruby's fit in and what they cost originally, but can't find much info on these.
