The problem with Amazon deals is the price goes up as page traffic increases and then drops again based on some mysterious formula.

There won't be another 8*** series receiver from Marantz anymore. You'll have to go separates to get this quality from now on.
Yep, currently listed at $1300!

I get a kick out of their "Frequently Bought Together" section.
If I had a SR 8002, I would SO buy these as the perfect complement!:
:rolleyes::eek::rolleyes::D

I saw it listed as $662 with free shipping. I paid over $1800 for mine when it was new and haggle like crazy to get that price. If you can actually get this receiver for $662, I recommend it. If I were spending that money today, I would get the separates from Emotiva and have money left over.

I bought mine last Saturday $729. crazy low price even at that price point. set it up yesterday, and playing some more with it right now. Of particular note, this unit has the latest firmware (H39) and also came with an upgrade to the remote RC3001 which sells for $359 by itself (Included was the RF and IR repeater kit) crazy insane deal if you can get it.

Note, giving it a workout at the moment with IMAX Super Speedway!

Cheers.

Got several hours of work in setting this receiver up. Love the quality and sound of it, but the remote was the most confusing remote and software I think I have ever used. I admit, I have never used anything much more than a universal RC, but this thing (RC3001) was a challenge. I still don't think I have completely figured out, but I am succesfully using it with everything connected to the receiver -- Projector (100" screen), 2 DVD players, Seagate Theater, Samsung HD OTH receiver, LCD 32" TV and a Wii. all working well. I don't think I am even begining to scratch the surface of what this receiver is capable of, but I am having a great time figuring it out. Shout out to Amazon for dropping the price low enough for me to buy it. :D

I also bought from Amazon, great price. Have you tried using the RC3001 Windows drivers with WIN7 64 bit? They don't work for me.

Marantz RC3001 Remote

Has anyone been able to get the RC3001 remote to recognize the software drivers loaded with wizz.it3 to work with Win7 64 bit? Marantz calims compatibility with Win7 but don't specify 32 bit only.

I use Vista Basic. Works with no issues. can you run the software in a compatible mode on a windows 7 machine, if so that may work.
