Not sure if this is where this is the correct board for this, but here goes...

...I need to purchase a box-like pedestal, about 8"-10" in height, 22 1/2" wide and 14 1/2" deep, that is to sit on top of an entertainment stand. The pedestal will support a 134 lb, Panasonic VT20, 58" plasma flatscreen TV. The idea is to raise the TV above the middle speaker of my sound system so the speaker will not obscure the view of the screen. For now, I've decided not to wall mount the TV. I also need a couple smaller "box stands" (about 12"x12") to raise a couple of tower speakers about 10" off the floor. Their sound path is obscured by furniture.
I've looked all over the internet for something very simple, yet not unattractive, to no avail. I may have to have something custom made but I thought I'd check here first. Thanks for your suggestions.

Have you thought about making one? I'm not a woodwoorker by any means but that sounds like it'd be fairly simple to make.

Ha, ha, you don't know me very well. I could screw up carving a toothpick.

I do not really have any ideas for you, outside of hiring someone to make these things for you.

I may soon raise my three fronts so that the drivers can clear all of the wood framing for when I get an AT (acoustically transparent) screen wall.

However, in your case, I would experiment before raising the speakers height, if only to make sure you don't really need the funky look. Some speakers will have dramatic differences in freq response at your ears, depending on the final height (and with lack of angle to be onaxis). Maybe a couple of thick phone books under each, temporarily, to see if you even care, or if there is even a difference that you can perceive.

For the center pedestal, I would encourage you to consider stuffing it with insulation that can absorb sound energy well just in case that this little box/pedestal happens to very resonant. I would even consider having the pedestal high enough to put some Auralex Mopads and/or speaker dudes under the speaker, etc. Good luck!

BTW, please let me know what you do come up with for raising mains, if you do go that route. I haven't figured out what I will do if I'm nuts enough to continue with my plan.
