Just wanted to know if any of you use any of the following? and which one you guys would recommend of the three?

1.) GLS Audio Banana Plug:
http://www.speakerrepair.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=genem&Product_Code=BS20&Category_Code=black_chrome

2.) Aperion :
http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/Aperion-HP-Banana-Plugs,49,39,152.aspx

3.) Nakamichi:

I use the locking banana plugs from bluejeanscable.com, for the money $5.75 a pair you will not find a better plug. Just my opinion.

Hey TechGuy, we must have posted at the same time, your reply was not up when I posted, good call my man.

Same here.:D

I have 16 pairs of locking bananas from BJC. They are awesome.

One time I placed an order for 2 pairs of locking bananas from BJC. On the same day I called and cancelled the order because it turned out I didn't need them. The customer service guy said it had been shipped already, but that he would give me full credit and said I could just KEEP the banana plugs anyway!!!

BJC = awesome products + awesome price + awesome customer service!!!:D

I own the GLS banana plugs you linked to. They work fine, look nice, but are a little bulky, heavy and slightly overpriced. As for the Aperions, they seem slightly overpriced compared to the GLS plugs w/the same functionality. As for the Nakamichis, if you're going for looks, those are the best looking, but if price for performance is what you're after, those won't fit the bill, either.

My suggestion would be the Closed Screw Type Copper Speaker Banana Plugs from Monoprice. Great functionality, great price and look pretty decent too, if that matters. There's also the Open Screw Type Copper Speaker Banana Plugs available as well for just a hair cheaper. These are easier to use, but also have some wiring exposed.

Banana plugs are great for functionality for disconnecting and reconnecting speaker cables, but for the most part, so long as they're well constructed, you get a solid connection, they're not a bear to work with and you're not overly concerned with looks, I'd opt with the more budget priced plugs so long as folks have generally had good experience with them... -TD

My whole setup is their cables, plugs and connectors, I agree with the awesome as you say. They have new terminated speaker wire with bananas that are welded not sodered, check it out on the site. Take care my friend. I hope the OP reads this.

I use the GLS locking banana plugs and have been happy with them. I paid quite a bit less than what's listed in link you posted. If you look, they go on sale once in a while, and there's usually a promo code to drop the price even more.

I use the Open Screw Type and don't have any issues. I highly recommend them, especially when they are on sale for .97 a pair :D

I also use GLS locking banana plugs but I find them difficult to open and close and am not impressed with them. They look good though.

wow, thanks for all the replys, for those that use the blue jeans, the end of the banana plug doesnt look like it has that spring that most others have to lock it in nicely? have you guys had any issues? does it sit in properly?

and is there any advantages between the sawtooth end (like the aperion) vs springs?

I use the GLS locking plugs. I find them easy to use (go figure). They haven't been problematic in any way.

Also check out: KnuKonconeptz they have the same banana jack as the Aperion @ a much better price.

All my BJC bananas lock very tight for me.

I had issues with the Monoprice since they are not locking, but the locking BJC plugs are great - absolutely no issues. I have unplugged and replugged my cables many times and these BJC still work like new after 2 yrs.

BTW from personal experience stay away from the Nack's and Monoprice cheapy bananas. They are garbage. They would be workable if the tip and top body half were a single piece. Unfortunately the tip screws in and can easily loosen up. It's a three piece body that really needs to be two.

I agree 100%.

I had to replace every one of those cheap Monoprice bananas. They are garbage.

yes i've been reading the same thing. Im def not going with the monoprice ones.

as far as the GLS ones, ive been reading that some ppl had a hard time getting the wire to stay snug in the plug, and had to add electric tape to make it thicker. so that it stays snug, besides that, nothing but positive reviews.

Blue jeans, have gotten good feedback from this forum.

Aperion, cant find any reviews on it (besides their own site).

Nakamichi, mixed reviews.

I dont mind paying a bit more than average, as long as i get the locking system, and something that fits the wire in snug and the banana plug into the receiver and speakers (snug as well)
