Can anyone point me to a few websites that deal with car audio in a similar fashion/scope as audioholics does for home theater, etc.?

I don't know if IASCA is still around but that was the governing body for car stereo contests for a long time. Parts Express may have something, too.

The thing about car audio is that so many people who go all out for their system are far from anything similar to a 'purist' that you'll see more "I can kill small animals with my subs" than "My car stereo sounds like a concert hall" threads.

And if you have a specific car in mind, many of the forums (i.e. mercedes, 350z etc) that are geared to those models or types have dedicated audio sections.
