there is one available locally in 'perfect' condition. Asking price is $500, it would cost me about $650 to get a new one. Thoughts on how much I should be offering?

Seems a bit high to me, unless perhaps it’s still in warranty. My “rule of thumb” for used gear is about 1/2 of original street price. However, something recent-model or in high demand might be worth more.

$400 sounds more reasonable to me, maybe $425 tops.

I'd offer 400 and see if they bite. ;)

Subs don't always fit in the 50% or less formula for used gear. If the sub is in demand, then many hold their value very well. I've seen older PB10s still go for > $300 because someone will buy them. If that is a newer PC12 then $500 is a decent deal...and...someone is likely to pay the price anyway.

Well I purchased my PB12-NSD for $450 cash locally, but it was in PERFECT condition also and 2 years left on the warranty.

Offer $400, and maybe he'll counter offer $450.

Are the warranties from SVS transferable?

Sweet action. Thursday of next week may be a new sub day for me!
