Someone just gave me this receiver, its in great working condition, seems to be pretty powerful as just a small amount of turning of the volume knob gives me loads of clean sound louder then i can handle. anyone got any information on the specs of this thing, all i know is it was MFG. in japan when pioneer was "good"

That's an early 90'-95' receiver. You can't beat free. I believe that receiver is rated 50 or 55 watts RMS per channel. Pop the cover off and take some pictures.

i found the service manual and it atleast gave me a bit of info, its actually a later 80s receiver and the inside is crammed with huge caps and a NICE power supply, it's 60wpc both channels driven on 8ohms with 145w of dynamic power (headroom)
