Folks, got to see this film this afternoon. Very action packed with lots of fighting going on throughout. Both the video and the audio were done quite well. The acting was decent AND the story-line was easy to follow. As such, I would have to give this film a solid B-. Be sure to see this one, especially if you liked seeing The Mummy films!

Phil

Since you admitted that you saw it first, I'll admit that I was there on day one. I'll also admit that I enjoyed it...not great cinema, but fine entertainment. Having spent time with old movies like The Seven Voyages of Sinbad and The Thief of Baghdad, this was easy to enjoy. Jake really got bulked out since the last time I saw him, the story was OK, it didn't stand still very long between action sequences and when it was over the end was satisfying. I think you're right about comparing it to The Mummy. I was a little disappointed that they didn't put in any flying carpets or genies, but I liked it anyway.

Great summation. Like you said, the film was entertaining with a decent ending. I also thought the so called "beauty queen" was hot. Just love her voice. All in all, it was fun to watch.

Has anyone else seen this? If so, what is your take on it? I thought it was decent, but not as good as Robin Hood. Just curious as to what others think.

Considering that I pretty much hated the Mummy films, maybe I'll pass. I agree that the girl in the movie is hot, but I think it's pretty weird that they got a white guy faking a British accent to play a Persian guy.

Plus, Hollywood hasn't had a lot of luck with video game movies.

Resident Evil - Lame
Silent Hill - Fairly Lame
Dead or Alive - Incredibly Lame
Mortal Kombat - Pretty Damn Lame
Streetfighter - Laughably Lame

Yeah, I am looking forward to seeing the next Resident Evil. It won't be soon enough as far as I am concerned.

The ONLY positive about the new Resident Evil movie is that it is being filmed with the Avatar 3-D technology... unless Mila Jovovich gets naked. :D

Now Mila doing full frontal nudity would really be nice! I mean, what a body. Personally, I can not wait for the next Resident Evil myself.;)

Hey, glad you liked it. I managed to see this film, as well as, Robin Hood. Of the two, I thought Robin Hood was much better. You may want to check it out yourself.

I am sure you will like it. Russell Crowe is one of the best actors imho. He did a fantastic job. When you do see it, be sure to let us all know what your thoughts are.

I thought "Prince of Persia" was awesome.

I give it an "A".:D

Definitely on my BD-must-have list along with Iron Man 2 & Clash of The Titans.

I also just saw this. I think I enjoyed it because I was preparing myself for a horrible experience, haha. Swashbuckling high budget Disney movies provide some brainless fun, like with the POTC series.

IIRC, I didn't have to skip 10 previews this time, as with the earlier Disney movies!

I was surprised that they roped in some top notch actors for this, like Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina. (Didn't know anything about the movie going into it.)
