What does this thing look like? Is it available now?
If your doing your research, you should talk to Jeff at JTR about a pair of Growler Duo's...

Here is the blurb for it:

$2799

Growlers are well respected in pro-sound, I think this Growler Duo is going to be pretty cool!

It looks like a pro-sound subwoofer. He will do veneers and such, standard is Line-X.

Captivators are another option, rmk owns them and might be able to chime in on their performance. With some veneers those might even have higher WAF than a horn loaded subwoofer would.

So the amp and Eq are built in?

Yes, you have to do everything for me I am your friend.

If this is a plug and play I am willing to try it.

The Growler Duo is plug and play. A 4,000watt amplifier and built in DSP. The 'normal' and 'low' modes are selected by just pressing a button on the plate amp. So, no pro-amps, fan mods, dbx's, dcx's, xr2sdfas, asrasd, 3q4rasd4, @#%$@#.

I think it would be easier for you to just move to a house with a better suited dedicated theater room, than to find sub(s) that work well for your current listening area.

I agree. Do you mind giving me $750k?

Can I get one now or is it in development?

I know you want output, another great way to go would be to do a custom box with 1 x 15" TC-Sounds driver and 2 x 18" PR's, you can tune it to what ever you want... and the output would be spectacular...

Just 1 of those boxes will be far more output then the sealed box you did already in the crusher

It'll take far less power as well.... you could make them fit in that space, and also have them look absolutely beautiful if you choose... you could find a cabinet maker in the area and see what he will do for ya...

Parts Express

That'll get you way under budget and also get you a custom looking product that your wife can approve of.....

The all I need is the stuff I sold to Oppman so I can start all over with a DIY...

Or he could get the same basic thing from AE for less than 1/2 the price, get one (or two) of John's nice cabinets, and still have money left over.
Yes very true - but I am pretty confident that the accuracy and excursion of the LMS's will likely trump the AE setup in control and distortion measurements.

Let's keep in mind he is coming off of some of the highest SQ subs out there, I'm thinkin with his budget. He should be going to at least equal or better IMO.
His budget ceartainly dictates such a move.

Hell, have AE build the cabinets for a LMS/PR setup.

/end thread.

:p

Or just get a couple Submersive's with an SMS-1 or the SVS EQ, that way everything is under warranty and there is no "DIY hassle".

My understanding is he wants a plug and play subwoofer or two. Not a science project.

I'd buy an active subwoofer, or two, plug them in and enjoy, then when he is happy with the output worry about external stuff.
