Unless your close to the Canadian border, you may not get much exposure to Canadian news. Well this stupid cow had her speaking event cancelled at the University of Ottawa by her security folks after a bitter reaction from some of the students. In typical blind cow fashion, she turns around and blames the Canadians for cancelling the event when it was her staff that cancelled it.

Ann Coulter is a dangerous woman insighting nothing but hatred towards minorities. Oh and she uses the guise of "Freedom of Speech" Well Lil Annie; this is a wake-up call. Hate mongering is against Canadian law and you lose that freedom of spreading that poison to others. Do the world favour and plan both feet into your poisonous yap and stop embarrassing your American brethren who want nothing do with you.

A Right winger yes, and we may not agree with her politics, but to say she's stupid is a bit of a stretch.

Coulter is an undergraduate at Cornell University, Coulter helped found The Cornell Review. She graduated c um laude from Cornell in 1984 with a B.A. in history, and received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she achieved membership in the Order of the Coif and was an editor of the Michigan Law Review.

I agree - she ain't stupid. She's spouts utter nonsense, but it's just part of her shtick. I actually question the intelligence of anyone who takes her seriously. I'm a big supporter of free speech. I just draw the line when it's blatant lying. Have a read of this:

http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2010/03/24/f-rfa-macdonald.html

These students just swallowed the bait, hook, line & sinker.

Something a bit more disturbing to me:

Are these people typical of the Tea Party movement? Please tell me they are a select few on the outer fringes....

I know of her educational background but unfortunately she's not putting it to good use by spreading hatred. Degrees hold little value if the person is an extremist promoting misunderstanding and hatred. If you want to stand behind her, be my guest. I don't want see her in Canada again. She's absolutley wretched!!

I might not agree with you Ann - but eat something, for the love of God! You'd blow over in a stong breeze!

... in all of Canada?

Wow ... holy deja vu, Batman. Something about that line is so familiar!
I know it sounds ironic but I have very little patience and tolerance for people who spread intolerance of people based on race or religious beliefs. The world has enough hate mongers out there and its really disappointing when a person of her educational background cannot see the damage she's doing my spreading misconceptions and vague generalizations based on religious and race.

I went to Harvard and still encountered people dumb as rocks. I also encountered several Cornell students which Harvard allows during the summer semester and wasn't impressed as most dropped out of the biology course I was taking in fear of failing. One girl I was friends with stopped talking to me when I scored a B on the first exam and her a D. Then take one of my friends has an IQ over 150 and he barely made it through high school and died just 2 years ago due to alcohol intoxication. In short, just because you go to an Ivy League school doesn't make you smart.

I think what concerns me more than whether or not you think Ann Coulter is stupid, mean, whatever, is the the drive to eliminate someone's point of view. She doesn't insight hate or violence... the Canadians I saw arguing outside, especially from the left seemed quite capabable of that all on their own.

Hate speach and mongering is what Louis Farrakhan does here domestically and evil rulers do abroad. Ann? Not so much. She's outrageous at times and crosses the line of what I consider good taste, but lets' be honest about it. Liberals hate her. The side of tolerance has no tolerance for those with differing opinions and this was a clear show of that.

I certainly don't agree with everything she says. I don't agree with a lot of what anyone says. I take the bits and pieces that apply to me and my way of thinking. Some of it comes from the left, the right, and mostly the center. I haven't done the research... because frankly I don't really care all that much about how a bunch of Canadian college students express their angst, but I'd like to see what kind of left wing extremists would be embraced on these campuses. I would hope they are just as appalled at them as well... though it seems it's never made the news. Perhaps as long as your like-minded, it's all good.

It seems some people don't know the difference between 'real' hate speech, and speech they just don't happen to agree with.

I guess you missed the first sentence of my post, "we may not agree with her politics"

Seems odd doesn't it?
First, inflammatory Ann Coulter is put on the speaking schedule at the University of Ottawa. Why ?

Then as the date approaches, the school's academic vice president Francois Houle sends her a letter warning about Canada's hate-speech codes and possible "criminal charges."
The venue was picketed by about 1,000 yelling demonstrators, and student Web pages had been calling for violence against Miss Coulter. On Tuesday night, she was advised by security that her safety could not be guaranteed.

Why have her there in the first place? They knew what they were getting.
The reason was to manufacture a politically driven media circus.

That's the price of free speech. It's a very slippery slope when we stifle certain people from airing their views. If she says something that's a complete lie - she's fair game for libel/slander charges. As long as she's just voicing personal opinions - no matter how ridiculous - she can say what she wants. Others are perfectly free to state why she's wrong.

It's a bit off topic, but you're absolutely right. The level of one's education is not a reliable indicator of intelligence or knowledge. I know plenty of smart people who never went to college. I also know people with university degrees who are clueless.

When one starts making racial generalizations in earnest, that is spreading hatred. I also consider myself somewhere in the neutral for I found people to far left or too far right see things too black and white and miss the big picture.

Yeah I don't get that either why U of Ottaawa booked her knowing her background. That wasn't well thought out for sure. So media manipulation on her part for more notiriety?
