Congratulations, Dawg!

My wife and I lived in sin until we started getting serious about having a pup!

Just curious what your inspiration was to change the status quo.

Thanks buddy.

Yep, we have lived in sin for about 4 years now. Nothing wrong with that.

We have both been married before. She has wanted us to get married for the past couple of years but I was "done" with marriage. Many arguments have occurred over this topic but I was dead-set against ever getting married again. I felt certain that I wanted her in my life no matter what but I made it very clear that I would not get married.

About a year ago she quit mentioning the fact that she wanted to get married. Our relationship grew and we became deeper in love. About 3 months ago, it hit me in the face like a big stick...I wanted to marry her. It struck me out of the blue and I couldn't believe I felt this way.

1 month ago, I lied to her and told her that I still didn't have any plans on ever getting married again but that I would like to buy her a nice ring. She jumped on that deal so we picked out a ring. During the time it was being made, we never made mention of it or what the meaning was behind it.

She thought the ring would be finished after spring break but I really had it in hand at the beginning of last week.

I told her we had a mandatory business dinner with my VP last Friday night. She was a little upset that we had to "work" on a weekend as she had a tennis tournament the following morning. I told her that I understood but we would just have to suck it up so lets not make a big deal out of it.

I took her to Del Frisco's for the "business dinner" and she didn't have a clue until they took us to our seat and she saw the flowers and champagne on the table. I popped down on one knee right then and there and got it done.

So to answer your question of my "inspiration was to change the status quo".

It was just love and me getting over my own issues without someone telling me I needed to get over them.

She likes the vintage stuff. Easy for me to pick out, I just took her to the store with me.

Man, I tried to take a million pictures but couldn't get them to turn out as good as yours did. Any tips on taking a picture of something that flashes all the light back at the camera?
Nice work dawg!

Meno setting and lots of pave, it's a classic, great job!

I think I'm gonna cry! Seriously, congrates on the engagement!

I took my wife out to dinner to propose as well. She had no clue it was coming. I had surreptitiously obtained her finger size and had the ring made, without her knowing anything about it.

I put it on the table in front of her chair while she was visiting the washroom. When she got back and saw it, she had a shocked expression on her face and said, "What does this mean...?" Then, I completely pooched it. I just said, "You know what it means." What a complete doofus I was.

You did it perfectly. I should've rehearsed....

But, she married me anyway.:D And, she has shown a lot of tolerance for my audioholism...:D:D

Well, since I call Carolyn my wife all the time, I guess everyone assumes we are married:confused:

We are not but I asked her to marry me Friday night and gave her a ring. We will be married on June 11th.
Congrats to you.

I'm sure that it's just part of your charm, and one of the reasons she said yes.

Long story short, he sprouted a vagina. :D

Seriously, that response had me welling up a tad. I feel like I'm sprouting the vagina.

I showed the pic's of the rings you and nibhaz bought to my g/f ... she said they were beautiful and made mention that she likes round diamonds. I guess that's good to know.

Marriage isn't a word ... it's a sentence. :D

It was funny, I was actually rehearsing all day long and couldn't come up with the right words. As I was showering, for the night out, I decided to forget everything I had come up with and just say what I felt when I knelled down. I mean, I sell stuff for a living so how hard could it be?

The perfect words came out of my mouth. Afterward, she said said the night out and ring were great but nothing like what I said to her.

It looks like the "dawg" finally has a leash.

One knee.

It will cost more than $29.99.

She didn't drink since she had a tennis match the next morning. On the other hand, I took it as a chance to drink a lot of scotch that cost more than I would normally spend.

Hey, congrats, Dawg. And welcome to the pound. :)

Ah, the memories...first the ball and ring. ;) Then the ball and chain. But after 27 years, I'd still do it all over again.

Happiness and love for you both, always.
