Lost: Final Season!

Folks, now that the new season of LOST has started, what take, if any, do you have on it thus far? I mean, who is Jacob and is he a good guy or the bad guy? Then, there is some man that looks like Locke yet claims to be the "smoke monster". Is he the bad guy OR is it just what YOU take from it?:confused: I must say, however, that I am still quite confused as we are approaching the last few final episodes. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them. Who knows, you may be right! Until then, I will remain perplexed.

Cheers,

Phil

I'm still pretty lost on some of it but the promise was made that all questions would be answered in this last season. At least we know what/who the smoke monster is. Whether he's good or bad, I suspect bad, remains to be seen.

I'm guessing that the alternate plot where every one makes it to LAX will reveal that the character's lives sucked worse without visiting the island.
Just a guess.

Hey, that is a great observation. I also suspect that there is more to Jack that meats the eye. But then again, can't that be said for any of them? I do agree, however, that the "smoke monster" is some sort of demon or something similar. But, I would not be surprised if things turn out just the opposite given the way things go on that island. ;);)

I purposely waited until the previous season was out on DVD to watch it without commercials. I watched the first episode of this season with the benefit of the DVR. Even fast forwarding through commercials irked me enough that I haven't seen the last two episodes. I'm hoping that I can hold out until it's available on Netflix.

No doubt, there are so many commercials during the show. It seems like more than any other show I watch. I could be wrong, but it sure does seem that way to me. However, I could not hold out that long as I have watched the show since its inception.:p:eek:

The season 6 started slowly this year, but I think the best is yet to come. The episode 4 sneak peek looked pretty interesting! I really like when Sawyer and "Mr. Clean" Locke interact with each other, Sawyer always has some good one liners to throw at him.

Sawyer is the men!

So true. In fact, in one of my above posts I meant to say that there is more to Sawyer, not Jack, than meets the eye. It is beginning to look like he may hold the key to what is to come. Like all things, only time will tell right?

Well, we now know where the so called "List" of names came from AND why they are on the island. It also looks like the "smoke monster" is the bad guy because he killed Jacob. From what I garner, he was NOT supposed to do that according to the "Rules". That was made clear by the little kid that just looked at the smoke monster shaking his head in utter disgust. As I eluded to in my earlier post, Sawyer seems to be the key to unlocking the island secrets. The question is, where does Richard fit into all of this as it all unfolds? ;););)

Pretty interesting indeed! After all, maybe getting trap on that Island wasn't as bad as the think.

Like you said before, their lifes suck pretty much more in the real world. Jack is close to being a loser (except for the fact that he is a spinal surgeon). Locke is still trap on his wheel chair. Claire's baby adoption is not going they way it was suppose too. Kate is still chased by the Feds. But for Hugo, the guy who all the bad lucks before the crash, everything seems good for him now!

Season 6 doesn't looks to be the best season of all, but they probably keep the really interesting stuff to when everything unfold for real.

Here's a little reminder of the previous seasons. Enjoy! :p;)

I think the "alternate" plot leads them all right back to the island!!!:D

It's kind of like Final Destination; you will get from point A to point B no matter How you get there and When you get there.

If the "Smoke" were the demon/bad guy, I think he would have killed every single person, not just some of them.

And I'm not 100% convinced that Jacob is really DEAD.:D

I think he will get back into the "Game" somehow.

Damn, I don't want LOST to end!!!:)

Interesting observation if I say so myself. One thing is certain, Hugo is getting fed real well both on and off of the island. Perhaps, the island is a better place for him since he seems to have better luck. As you mentioned, the same thing can be said for the rest of the survivors. Did you notice that Ruth revealed she had terminal cancer AND there has been no mention nada on Charlie? Moreover, that really surprises me because I always thought he had a deeper connection to the island. Now, it looks more like Sawyer so who knows. My question is, however, where does Richard fit into all of this AND exactly who is Jacob? Kind of wished they would get to it in answering some of our questions.;)

True, but the Smoke Monster has manipulated Ben to do his dirty work which was killing Jacob. Somehow though, that is against the rules of the island as was revealed when the Smoke Monster chased the little kid into the woods. That is, the little kid left me with the impression that there will be consequences to come for doing so. However, the Smoke Monster does not seem to be too worried about it. He claims to just want to go "home"-where ever that may be. As such, I am sure Jacob will get back into the game some way some how. Like you, I do not want it to end but do want some answers! ;):);)

If I remember correctly, the "smoke guy" was the one who did NOT want people to come to the Island, and Jacob was the one who did want people to come to the Island (when they were sitting on the beach talking to each other the end of season 5).

I wonder why this is?

......among a million other questions.:D

Yeah, I remember that. The Smoke Monster was not in the form of Locke. That is, he was some other man not seen on the island before that episode. However, Jacob did seem to be in control of things. At least, that was my impression of him. We do know, however, that the Smoke Monster claimed to be a man at one time or another. The question is, what has changed since he was a man? That, along with millions of other questions. I still say Charlie will be back before it is all over. The same can be said about Desmond! ;);)

Folks, I can NOT wait for the next episode of LOST. My guess is we will learn more about the Smoke Monster per se and how his plan includes Sawyer. I also wonder if and when will Charlie &/or Desmond will come back into the game. Probably sooner than you think! ;);)

I also want to know what the deal with Richard is. He doesn't age and seems to know everything, so he's obviously got a special role besides advising and leading The Others. I'm curious as to why The Others want to kill Sayid even though Jacob said he needed to be saved (What is he "infected" with?).

I wonder if the two storylines will ever merge. Somehow Juliet knew the bomb worked and it'll be interesting to see if the rest of the survivors ever find that out.

Fair enough. However, I am not too sure the Others really want to kill Sayid. Perhaps, just what is inside of him. I do wonder what happened to Claire as the others mentioned in the last episode. Guess we will learn more about this in the next episode. :);):)

I have watched every episode of LOST and I could not be happier that is is ending. No one will ever convince me that the writers are not just laughing their asses off about how easy it is to string us along. I haven't been this annoyed by a TV show that I liked and watched since The X-Files.
