MediaMonkey works great for organizing all your music and making sure all the tags are correct. Just wish it would work in Linux as well.

I use AVGFree on my XP laptop and I must say that I've never noticed it take up too many resources. I don't even notice it slow down when it's running it's scans.

I was wondering if anyone knows a good program that can join AVI's together, or join video's together. I tried using windows movie maker, but everyone knows it's pretty much a giant piece of garbage. I used AVI joiner and it worked amazingly well, however it is shareware and my trial expired.

VirtualDub is the best

That is a movie player isn't it? And is it better than itunes? I tunes on the mac side is not at all the same as the windows version which is slow and buggy. I tunes on the mac side is fast, stable and very mature. Which is why I asked if there is a better player for os x not just another player. I will look at it though so thanks.

That's cool it does all that, but I think what I meant was a music management system rather than just a player. I am looking at songbird but it seems to be just a copy if itunes. I can see uses for mplayer though so I am keeping it

VirtualDub can do tons of stuff and there are plenty of different plug-ins and filters,
there also vReveal - But it's not free

Inssider - Highfigh gets credit for this one. Nice little utility for use with wireless connections.

Speaking of wireless connections, Connectify could be a useful app. I tried it on my laptop and it worked great. It basically turns your laptop into a wireless access point.
