You know what the funny thing is?
Most of us have our Subs level @ 25%, and we still look at bigger & badder Subs!
Lots of people have a big subwoofer, most have p*ssy LCR's. Much more badass subwoofer options than badass LCR options.
I think that's the whole point. Gawd, I just love this whole internet direct race to perfection. We've made more strides within the last 10 years in LF technology development and manufacture than in all the years previous.
The industry big boys like Velodyne, Def Tech and JL have gotta be shittin their pants about all of this. Unbelievable speed of evolution, and economy of scale.

I don't think there is that much innovation going on. Just lots of big home-pro crossover subwoofers. The Internet surely changed the game, but, there isn't much overhead in building subwoofers. Companies like Velodyne have much more overhead than some guy building a subwoofer in a garage.
I think this sort of stuff will hurt their business a bit, but, not much. It takes a special breed to want two dual 15" subwoofers.
I can't figure out how to word the above so it doesn't sound like I'm knocking Epik: I think this is a cool product and a awesome price. I hope it performs well, and I like the low-overhead Internet direct business model.
is this something that i can make myself
Nah. They work pretty good and are cheap. I bought mine at Guitar Center. Cheaper online I'm sure, but, it was convenient and I could touch it before I bought it, so I figured I'd give them the extra 10 bucks.
There is a thread about these somewhere on here. Lots of happy customers. They work surprisingly well.
