Help please! I changed the setup and now dull sound...

I've been at this for days now... The wife decided to change the layout of the room, and now my system doesnt sound as well as it did before. I double checked all my connections. Specifically I made sure that the HDMI running from my Blu Ray to HK receiver, and HDMI from receiver to TV was not loose. Also, made sure the settings on the blu ray and HK didnt change. Even though I have checked all this, my system doesnt produce the same level of sound and clarity as before. I have attached a pic below to show my new setup. Note the subwoofer is located on the left wall, in the corner..

Please help! My ears cant take the lack of quality sound!

Obviously your previous set up was better acoustically. The picture shows speakers too close together, with windows behind, which are acoustically highly reflective. In other words a nightmare.

You had better put it back the way it was.

Moving the speakers and / or listening position will have a dramatic affect on the sound, especially the bass. As the fellow above said, your best remedy is to put things back the way they were.

How was it laid out before? Looking at what you have now, the seating must be right against the half wall that the picture was taken from. That's going to cause a lot of bass buildup due to your head being so close to a boundary. In the other arrangement, was the room turned sideways and seating not against a wall?

Hi Bryan. Yes, in my previous setup, the speakers were against south wall and we normally sat near the north wall which had a sliding glass door behind us. In the picture of the current setup, the speakers are against the west wall, and the half wall (that separates the kitchen and family room) is considered the "East wall" (its really more of a divider).

Always place speakers facing down the long axis of the room.
