Opinion on analog RCA interconnects by Python?

I'm shopping around for RCA audio cables, to serve as interconnects from my receiver's pre-outs to an external amp.

I read recommendations about using shielded, low-capacitance cables for this application and checked out Blue Jeans Cables. It looks amazing, but I'm on a tight budget for my upgrade, so I am looking for a compromise.

Python RCA audio cables look promising, and pricing seems like a bargain.

Specs I found are:
- oxygen free copper (OFC) cable with gold contacts
- spiral wound bare copper shielding against EMI/RFI interference
- low density foam dielectric.
- 24K gold plated heavy duty RCA connectors - color coded.

Can these be considered "audiophile-grade" cables? Does anyone have any experience with Python RCA audio cables?

I've always had problems with the term "Audiophile"

It seems that adding that adjective to the description tends to make one think they possess magical qualities that other well-constructed cables lack, not to mention and a higher price.

The point of diminishing returns for cables and interconnects is much, much lower than many hi-glitz cable companies want you to realize.

Look for solid construction and quality parts, and these don't cost a fortune. Solid construction really comes into play when one intends to unplug and plug them in repeatedly. Even then, some high priced "Audiophile recommended" cables have been known to fail on occasion.

The cables you pointed out should be more than adequate but, then again, I've not used them.

If that is a pic of the acual units, they look like cheap the stuff. Go with Monoprice if you are on a budget and you should be fine.

Wow, those Premium cables from Monoprice are very reasonably priced, even cheaper than Pythons, and look quite sturdy. Thank you for pointing that out. I will need to cover 6 channels, to upgrade everything, so that will keep the price in check for me.

I saw several 5-star reviews about Python cables, saying they are substantial and well-made... But I'd rather ask here first :)

I'd like to ask also - are twisted-pair cables in common use with high-end home audio users? Monoprice premium cables are coax, from reading their description - is that superior to twisted-pair?

Python is manufactured by Steren correct? Most likely they are made in the same plant in China as the Monoprice Cables. Here is a bunch of Python Cables pretty inexpensive. I have been buying all my cables from CableGiant.com
