Pre pro with matching amp(s) what's out there?

I'm wondering about reasonably priced separates that match ascetically. PrePro and amp from the same company and series. It would be nice if they have a matching Blu-ray player but...that sounds expensive. I know Emotiva but what are some other options in that (or closest) price range. Must be able to connect to a laptop and Ipod (hard wired) and be current with the HDMI spec.

Just curious and gauging costs.

Marantz has a matching combo but it's $5099 MSRP, so nowhere near the <$2k cost of the Emotiva combo.

It's hard to find something that doubles down into 4-Ohms like Emotiva does, and still be priced reasonably.

If I get serious about it that will be checked out, but for now I'm curious about new only.



You know it's you and Greg and your grumbling about Emotiva that has me looking...that plus I wish Emotiva made a 5 channel amp that had more than 200wpc. For some reason I've become interested in stupid amounts of head room. (leave it alone Alex!)

about 20,000wpc @ 2ohms...


I don't really know...I'm sure Emo's 200wpc @ 8ohms is enough but this is Audioholics. Just for reference I'm running a Yamaha RX-V2500 currently.

Doug, to be completely fair, that thing is an absolute beast. But, thats why I asked about multiple amps. You really don't need that kind of power for your surround channels...

Thats what makes emotiva such a great deal, though, really. You could get a great setup with a yammy pre/pro and yammy pro amps, but they don't match aesthetically. Beggars can't be choosers. You could get into some used Rotel stuff for sure.
