I have around $600 to spend on a musical sub. Which one should I get? So far I have not listened to any of these subs yet. My living room is living room is around 400~500 sqft.

Ryhmik F15 699 + shipping ~=750
SVS PB 12 NSD 569 +50=619
HSU VTF-3 MK3 629+100=729
eD A5s-300 =550

Wish I could include a poll.

The ED A5s-300 is not really comparable to the other subs you listed. The ED subs which are in that class are the A3-300 and the A5-350. Another sub you might want to consider is the Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX, which is mostly just a down-firing version of the VTF3.3. If what you want a sub for is 100% music, and not the extreme bass on a lot of electronic and hip hop music, I would go for the Rythmik. If the sub is for a mixture of music and movies, or some music that wants heavy duty output on bass, I would go for the VTF3.3 or the Outlaw Audio LFM.

The ED A5s-300 would be more fairly compared to the SVS SB12, the Rythmik f12, or the Epik Vanquish.

You mention a "musical" sub so I'd have to go with the Rythmik first. The Epik Vanquish Shadyj mentioned is also very good. The HSU is a ported design, but still very musical and will give more output than either of the these two options making it a good compromise between HT and Music.

If you live in Chicago, wouldn't the very cheapest Rythmik F15 be closer to $800 delivered? That'd be the vinyl-veneered walnut version ($699) + shipping ($94). That would put it well beyond your $600 budget, and seemingly eliminate it from consideration.

You are right my friend, but that eliminates HSU as well. I said around 600 and just 600.
