Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

I saw this on Blu-Ray (Netflix). Philip Seymour Hoffman is great...everyone else average.

The first half needed more editing, but it picks up pace in the second half. A solid amount of time in the beginning is donated to showing Marisa Tomei's boobs (had to look her name up) and giving a back story, but it just gets a bit long.

Overall it is worth seeing. Not for kids or anyone you don't feel watching violence, nudity and graphic sex scenes with.

Sound quality is almost a non-issue, the movie is mostly dialog. The dialog quality is sufficient. Picture quality is nothing stunning, the movie is a bit stark stylistically anyways.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10. It's actually a pretty good movie, and its reviews are extremely positive. So, maybe it was a bit more mature than I was in the mood for. For sure worth a rental, let me know what you guys think.

Thread jack in Post #3. Is that a record? Actually there is a thread on this movie somewhere but the search function told me to eff-off. True story. That's now my favorite phrase ever ... thanks to somebody here ... mperfct or Sheep. I use it even when I lie. True story.

Anyway, I thought the movie was great ... easily an 8 or maybe an 8.5 based on my scale that has no real reference. I remember the ending being somehow unexpected but since I can't remember exactly what it was I am unable to spoil it for jostenmeat.

Indeed, she's always looked good. I was pissed while watching "What Women Want" because Mel dropped Marisa for Helen, that's not even I decision I would make if I was blind and my body was numb. Helen's voice is annoying, not to mention her face. And her body is a far cry from Marisa's.

Yes, Marisa is very good looking in this movie, she looks really good as a stripper in "The Wrestler" also... As far as this movie is concerned, I thought it was pretty good, but it's nothing I would watch multiple times, unless it was just to see Marisa naked again.

I had to shut this movie off, apart from Marisa, I really wasn't getting into it. PSH is a hell of an actor though.
