I was looking around the intertubes for refub receivers. My parents just bought a new Denon 590 for like $350 and they like it. Anyway I was looking at the authorized Denon resellers on their website and Dakmart (which I guess is located in Florida?) is selling refurb Denon 1610s for <$300 which I think is a steal. Plus they offer a 1 year warranty on top of the regular 90days Denon offers.

I was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them. Looking at Google every review of the website is either very good or very bad, so I'm wondering if any of you guys have first hand experience.

I saw that they have a tendency to not have things in stock, so I just sent them an email to see if they have any right now.

Also, I'd be interested to hear what good refurb models you guys recommend.

Thanks a ton!

Ok, thx. I've been looking around that site and it looks like I could get a Onkyo Ht-rc160 (which is supposed to be identical to the Tx-sr607, just -10wpc) for about $20 more than the Denon. And I'd bet that A4L is more reliable too =P

Any thoughts? Thanks for all the help already.

+1

I don't think you'll find many (if any) negative reviews for Accessories4less. They are a class outfit and do right by their customers!

Best,

I just picked up a silver Onkyo706 from acc4less for $399. On arrival the up button for fm tuning didnt work. Within 1day had a return shipping label & theyre sending me a black unit at the same cost as silver, no additional fees. Further more the shipped off my replacement as soon as they confirmed that the defective unit was at my UPS location. Didnt have to wait for them to receive it & inspect to confirm fault!
Good experience so far besides my bad luck on the initial D.O.A. unit!

Dakmart probably has good customer service for the products they have in stock. Once the product is out of stock they seem to drift out of support. I've spoken with their customer support about products they no longer have. They seem to have a real big problem with updating their site. I was going to order something they had on their site, but I thought it was too good to be true (because of the price) and I was right. They not only didn't have it in stock but knew they where not going to get anymore and hadn't had any in some time. Yet, the product was still shown as available on their site. I hate to think the mess you'd be in if you ordered something they didn't have. I wonder if they'd be so nice to refund your money, or if they'd give you a run around eventually trying to fod off some other crap to you that you don't want as some sort of credit. Who really knows, but I prefer to stay away from businesses that conduct themselves in a lazy way.

Marantz SR 7001

I got my Marantz SR 7001 for $500 from accessories 4 less - list price $1400.

I love it and have had no problems whatsoever with it.

I did buy the extended protection plan just for peace of mind.

I bought a refurbished Onkyo from the Onkyo online store with 1 year warrany (now expired). They offer the option of purchasing extended warranty. If I remember correctly the shipping was free. The unit has been serving for almost two years with zero problems. And it was quite inexpensive.
