I guess the Cayman Islands better come up with a new name.

Never mind that they had the name about 400 years before Porsche decided to [STRIKE]steal[/STRIKE] use it.

Porsche AG has nixed Wiedeking and now has a new guy as CEO. Looks like the new guy is trying to flex his muscles.

Wiedeking is the guy who made Porsche the most profitable car company in the world.

I will be interested to see the direction they take these next years.

Nicely written article.

If someone were selling a car, or car parts by the same name... maybe. But shoes? Sigh.

I think that a car company should start selling a model called the "Sedan."

After that four-door abomination, I wouldn't put anything past them.

have you seen a panamera in person or driven it? its an amazing car and the pictures online dont represent it very well at all.. its a total stud in person with a top notch interior and tons of room for 4 people. I feel like I'm in the space shuttle sitting inside it. :D

I saw one today. It looked, really, really nice. Far bigger then you'd expect it to be, and really quite striking. It was black, which didn't hurt either.

I like the Cayenne as well. Almost 600hp? Can't hate that.

That almost 600hp comes in only the top model, and for a price.:)
Cayenne Turbo S - $126,300 550hp:eek:

I've been fortunate enough to drive a lot of cars in my life, and I prefer Porsche. I drive a Cayenne GTS as my daily driver and a GT3 is my toy car.

That said, the Cayenne GTS has been my favorite four door I've ever owned. It's fun to drive, but still fits four people comfortibly.

...

As far as the Panamera, I test drove a Turbo. The car is really beautiful in person and also drives amazing. It feels like a 911. The car I drove was outfitted with PDDC (also on my GTS) which I think is one of the biggest technological improvements in four doors. The interior of the Panamera is probably my favorite of all time: Porsche ergonomics but so stylish.

The downside of the car is while there is a back seat, its pretty tight. The headroom is good, but the leg room would be okay for casually toting people, but not for putting people back there every day.

I think people think that the Panamera is going to be a 7 series or AMG S63/65 competitor, and I think it will be on some level, but I really think the customer is different and, like Chris and Sheep said, it's something that you need to see in person. It's like a 911 with a higher WAF.

That's my spiel, but, I still think that lawsuit is pretty lame. :)

Virgin Air is doing the same kind of lawsuits:eek: Anyone using Virgin is sued, ala Monster.
The Porsche news was news to me, but this does not surprise me at all about Virgin. I cannot say how I know, but we are talking about really really big egos here . . . :(

This doesn't seem to be a problem in NYC where the Virgin's Day parade was cancelled because one girl was sick and the other didn't want to march without her friend.
