What qualities, other than being offensive (to some at least, or perhaps the general population), would cause a video to have an NC-17 rating?

Which is why you stating things criticizing his singing or saying it looks like trashy doesn't make any sense in response to my original post. Those things obviously do not cause things to be given NC-17 ratings.

If you don't know what qualifies for NC-17 ratings then maybe you are hanging out in the wrong forums, obviously Audio/video is just not your thing !
Your first post was directed towards my post and you didn't ask why this should be NC-17 you said if it should be then why shouldn't Madonna, Spears, you asked what was the difference, prolly not much difference at all so maybe just maybe the other two should have a warning about explicit material girls also. Maybe they should have been NC-17 as well, the only difference I could see between any of them is that Madonna surely had the edge in singing abilities, I was never a fan but no doubt she was the better talent.

I never said anything about a rating.
I criticize his singing because I don't like it. I have that right. You can like it, but I don't have to. My response was to you asking why his vid is different than Brits. Hence my answer.

To each their own, but what pisses me off is that you purposely choose to behave in a way that going to cause controversey, then you tell me that if I don't like it, I'm close minded, intolerant, homophobic, and a prude. Do whatever you want, but have some class to the public. That's not just directed at Adam but all the hollywood types who feel the need to engage in outrageous or headline making behavior.

Adam Lambert on the American Music Awards. WTF IMO he hurt himself tonight. I don't know if he ruined his career. But I don't think his peers were impressed with him, or his performance. Without a doubt he killed the ending of the AMA's tonight.

Adam Lambert's performance was disturbing the most at two points. The first part that disturbed me is when he grabbed one of the male dancer's heads and thrust it into his groin, I think that's a lot more graphic than male dancers grinding Britney. The second most disturbing part was his face at the end of the performance when he was resperating heavily, I don't want to see a face like that anywhere.

Thanks to Seth's super sleuth talents, I was able to watch it.

I stopped after about a minute. I wasn't so much disgusted as just bored. I also turned off the volume about five seconds into it.

What can I say? I'll spend several hours a day checking if anyone has posted anything here, but I don't have enough time to waste on that. Life's too short.

And if you think that should garner an NC-17 rating then I'd say it's you that doesn't know what qualifies as NC-17. Showgirls, that video was not. Maybe you'd be happier at a sports forum instead of this one.

You are too much so WTF makes it OK for some flaming idiot to grab another male dancer and pull the guys mouth/face up against his pecker,and proceed to dry hump the guys face maybe in your perverse mind you actually think that its cool for young kids to see that hell I'm not even sure it was cool for me to see it,.I don't care about the kiss I mean so what the idiot likes boys and he shows that side at all times but the other part was completely un-called for and I think he is getting exactly what he deserves over the whole issue at this point,very negative publicity,cancelled appearances and such, with any luck he will soon be forgotten and this will just be a distant memory, hell it is already, music awards what music awards I don't recall....
