Yea, I got Gorilla Glue and some roofing caulk, that should work. And I ordered the 3/8" Parts Express gasket for the speakers and for the front baffle.

So here is a another good discussion topic. How to mount front baffle and seal but allow it to be removable and adjustable.

I planned to buy corner gussets from Rockler and some cap nut connector bolts from Rockler (search "cap nuts" on Rockler website). Then just mount the front baffle to those corner gussets. In addition I was going to use the 3/8" foam as a gasket for the front baffle. Think this will work?
This is a modification to Zaph's design, see zaphaudio's (Design Mantra section) for what he does. I did not agree with having the 1/4" front baffle mounted to the a front section (see CAD pdf for what I am talking about if curious) so I am just using one piece for the front.
The gorilla glue is an expanding formula, kinda like that foam insulation in the spray can , this being said it is extremely messy and clean-up is a nightmare.I think original titebond wood glue is the absolute best for any cabinet building.

Crap! Swerd, you are 100% correct, didn't think about that, I think I will have to change design to hurricane... thanks... you saved my a**.

I'd use a router table for making the miters, but i think it'd be easier to just laminate the box. Though I've considered what you are talking about for fun. Try it and let us know how it turns out.:D

I've also thought of using dovetails for fun.

Funny you mention it, I was just thinking of using dovetails or box cut for my next speaker build. Sears had some affordable jigs for the job.

Update on progress

Making some good progress, doesn't seem to be taking as long as I originally anticipated.

Started another thread for the crossover issues I am running into, any help would be greatly appreciated...

Also, included a pic of the "man lair", I have been researching the A/V University for better acoustic layouts, not really sure what to do considering I do not have a rear wall. I have complete control over what this room looks like so suggestions like "build a wall" are feasible...lol...

Thanks,
Paul

Completed Pics

And finally, my completed ZMV5. Turned out a little nicer and a lot more expensive then I thought. But, the build was totally worth it, these things sound awesome. My wife got the chills when she listened to her favorite vocals on a high definition audio DVD (Adele, Amy Winehouse, etc.)

and of course thanks to all those on audioholics who helped me in the process and special thanks to Zaph...

Nice job! What's your next project? :)
hmmm, next project. Well first I am going to install some baseboards in the basement to get some heat to do the next project...

But I was thinking of either Zaphs new floorstanding MMTMM design or 2 subs or Zaphs center channel. The MMTMM seem to be the most expensive option right now but would meet my SPL and entertaining requirements. The 2 12"s are probably the most brain racking b/c I would have to make many decisions on type sub, ported/sealed, plate amp / Berringer, 12's or 15's, Dayton / JL / Infinity, etc. etc. and the Center Channel would be a quick, cheap upgrade to my home theater now that I have upgraded the fronts...
