Hi there,
I am going to share pics of my set-up with you. It's a purely stereo set-up (except for 1 piece ).

This is the Philips LHH2000. Philips sold it in the mid '80s. It was used at radio stations. It was very popular in Japan. Still is, they ask around 4000 euro for a LHH2000.
The LHH2000 system is a LHH2001 cdplayer, a LHH2051 Function module (with the big dail), and the LHH2052 Command module (the part on the left of the 'remote' with 4 buttons).
It has a CDM1 transport (earlier models use CDM0 transports), and 2x tda1540 14-bit d/a converters. It sounds good, very good. It outperformces my CD11LE, CD14 and Philips DAC960 tda1541 S2. Never thought it would sound that good...

This i a Marantz CD14, it uses 2x tda1547 d/a converters. This player has a Lclock x02 clock. It sounds very detailled.

The big gold finisched thing on the ground is the Philips SCD2000. Its a multichannel SACD demonstration model. Philips used it back in 2000 to demonstrate multichannel on hifi-fairs.

This is a Philips DAT880. It's a prototype DAT recorder build by Philips/Marantz. Marantz did bring it on the market, it name was Marantz DT84. I am still looking for technical (or any) information on the Marantz DT84, because the Philips DAT880 broke down. I hope to get it fixed, but i need a service manual. Since the Philips DAT880 has not been on the market, there is no service manual of it.

This is a Marantz CD11LE. This player was the very first player sent from Japan to Holland, a so called 'early sample' with no serial. Here in Holland it has been modified to the Limited Edition (LE) version.
This player was used by Ken Ishiwata at listening demonstrations. KI himself owned this player!! I bought it from someone who works at Marantz. He bought it at an action at Marantz headquarters here in Holland.

Marantz recently released a high end turntable, the TT-15S1, that was custom specced by Ken Ishiwata:

Seems like it would fit right in with your gear.

No, no vinyl for me. I have had a project turntable, but i think its annoying to turn the record half way...
And i have a special interest/love for the Philips d/a converters and cd mechanisms.

Okay, fair enough... but the Marantz TT (being over-all designed/speced by Ishiwata), is far higher in build quality, parts quality and performance than the Pro-Ject.... but I suspect you already know that since Ken had such a large involvement in it's creation

Also, realize that it's not that uncommon for the master used to make the vinyl version being higher in quality than the CD release. The Marantz table above, being a superb unit to archive/transfer vinyl recordings to a digital format. A very high quality table like the Marantz will playback good condition/excellent condition vinyl, it can sound nearly identical to CD.

Well, i was astound by the sound of the pro-ject back then, but really, vinyl does not have my interest
I do like the big album covers though, sometimes they look like a peace of art. I keep it to the digital section for now.

Great, what is your function at Philips?

I have a Marantz CD7 cdplayer now, feeding it with FLAC music files on an external western digital harddrive connected through USB on a TEAC WAP4500 which is connected on my CD7 through its optical digital output (the CD7 acts as a DAC).
The TEAC WAP4500 is a mediaplayer, its remote has a small screen on it, so i can browse my FLAC files
