I see nowhere that anyone has suggested otherwise. Are you saying though on an open forum that no one should post anything in response? I have yet to see an original post made with no intent of eliciting responses – indeed, replies are why people post in the first place. Do you really mean to dictate what someone can/can’t reply?
You are totally correct Craig; I did mentioned in my very first post,
at the beginning of this thread, that everyone is welcome to comment anytime they wish.
After all, this is an open forum, right.

* Besides, mazersteven came with one of the most profound quote so far.
"Your life is the sum result......from being in charge of yourself." (Post #13)
Very nice indeed.

Don't worry, be happy...

I'm personally disappointed that Budda only let us have 365 days in a year and not more. That way we could go on enjoying this thread beyond the one year expiration date.

Oh sure; the constant posts in this thread, along with the carpet bombing of every other thread on the site will become a bit annoying at times; akin to water torture, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Oh, but it's only for the first year. There will be more to come, much much more... :)

* Also, this thread will help to take care of your concern from your second paragraph,
I can assure you of this. :)

Here's my spritual offereing:

Nice! From Lord Of The Rings "The Return of the King".

...just when Frodo is about to throw the ring into the flaming volcano...

* And then, mankind will be saved from evil.

How thoughtful... :)

Annoying ?????Carpet bombing...........well yeah I guess we can get used to it...:rolleyes:
Yep, we're all in it for the same reasons Jamie; learn and teach about our hobbies.

Me too, I feel 'Woed up', and every day now... ;)

October 29 Offering

Here's today thought from another spiritual quote.

Wow, for someone whose handle is LordOfTheRings…

That’s Gandalf facing down the beast in the caverns from the first film.

I don't think that is from the film, but it IS Gandalf battling the Balrog in the mines. With a name like LOTR, you would think you should be able to pick that out instantly.

It’s the one frame they left out of “The Lord Of The Rings; The Fellowship Of The Ring Special Extended version supplimentnal extras – Disc 4”

Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the reconfirmation.

* And, oh well, nobody's perfect after all, even myself with a name like LOTR. ;)

Now!, that's what I call the precise touch. I can see the movie's addiction in you Craig.
Way to go! :)

What ?!?

I understand that the beheading may or may not be viewed as a spiritual offering but I'll now be honest and say that I can't stand that Eastern mumbo jumbo. A nice hot steaming cup of STFU seemed to be perfectly in order.

May as well start a thread called the Christian Corner ... for Davemcc and mrtycrafts.
... and make them read it like you're paying them. :D

Fine ... I'm rambling.

Sorry, Mazer. It wasn't this thread that got him the axe.

I can't stand that Eastern mumbo jumbo either, especially when it's offered as provocation disguised as spirituality. That, and the thread carpet bombing…

Curious minds want to know, what did get him the axe?

I work hard (translation) on this, but...

My October 30th Offering quote was deleted (as well 38 more of my posts in other threads), I feel sad...

I thought this thread was a very positive one; I'm sure for certain people it was, but not for others.

I won't insist, and will leave it at that. I'm done with it, and keep each day Offerings to myself.
Just too bad this type of thread is not everyone's cup of tea.

* In don't think there is anymore to add (unless some people are interested in these great thoughts by Master philosophers);
so, I'm sure if this thread is eventually locked, no one will object.

Peace,
Bob

P.S. And this from a special book that was given to me while I was in Nepal, by a Master philosopher.

Catching up...

Well, I decided to spent some considerable time on these translations,
because I really believe that they are exeptionally powerful.

So, I decided, after all, to keep this thread going, for the benefit of the people interested.
If others are not, they simply can ignore it, that's all.
Why do people have to pay the price of resignation, for the sake of the
objection and offenses of a few ones?

Then, after calculated consideration, I saw in this a good lesson of perseverence, for the good of people.

Today, November 3 Offering...

And now with today's offering;

________________________ November 3 ________________________

"The compassion define itself briefly like a state of mind
non violent, non offensive, non agressive. It's a mental posture
that goes in pair with the sense of engagement, of responsability and respect of other.
<< Tse-wa, compassion in Tibetan, means that we wish good things to ourself.
Alternatively, nothing interdicts to start by nourishing this sentiment in self-wishing
to be free of all suffering, then to cultivate it, to reenforce it and extend it
to the exterior world by including the others. >>"

The XIVth dalai-lama

))) I'll be back with tomorrow's offering, and each and every day of the year.
And for many years to come...

P.S. These thoughts are from a book that was given to me by a Master philosopher in Nepal. It is by Danielle & Olivier Follmi, and it's called "Offerings 365 thoughts of the Master Buddhists." (Editions de La Martiniere)

P.P.S. It takes a long time to properly translate from French to English.
Just for my last two posts, it took me more than three hours to translate.
Like I said, I'm a perfectionist in everything I initiate, and I love to share good things of life.

Peace to all,
Bob
