I can't believe I have been so forgetful of late
I was going to ask, about something I heard -
I heard that a thin non-porous membrane can be effective with dealing with lower frequencies - Is this true?
If so, what about using UltraTouch
radiant barrier - if I am understanding everything correctly
, then on a per/inch basis it might actually be better than the thicker stuff - I'm not saying that many layers should be used, only that the rear of the panel ( after the air gap ), be covered in a single layer for more effectiveness ( if a membrane is effective
).
Should I end up going with the UltraTouch, would there be any acoustical benefit to compressing the material - say using the 5.5" material compressed to 4"?
