I found some good hard rock

Good rock is a rare thing these days. I like stuff like Porcupine Tree, Marilion, etc., but I like just good straight up hard rock too. Just bought a CD by Halestorm and it is great. Reminds me of Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Evanescence, and Faith Hill all rolled into one. This is good stuff.

I have heard the name but never gave them a listen. I will check it out. I have always had a thing for good girl rock bands

Interesting. They/she has a bunch of videos on Youtube. If you like Halestorm, you might also like Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. They are not quite as hard, somewhat jammier, but Grace has a similar energy. She's a great singer and also plays fine keyboards and guitar. Her somewhat strange mannerisms have something to do with the fact that she's nearly blind. I was there when this video was recorded and they do a great show. They have two CDs, both well worth a listen,

I hope this doesn't stray too far off the original intent of this thread but since you mentioned Porcupine Tree and Marillion I think this band is worth a recommendation - Mostly Autumn, especially the songs sung by Heather Findley. While they're more celtic/prog they can rock out a bit.

Good stuff, but yeah it's not really hard rock. Still good though. Same for the Potter girl too. Good but not hard rock.

A good friend of mine love these gals. They are easy to listen too, thats for sure. But way diiferent than the genre that started this thread

Another vote here for Lacuna Coil- if you like Evanescence, definitely worth a listen to. I ran across LC's self titled EP about 10 or 11 years and have been following them ever since. I think Karmacode is their best album to date, it was the kind of album I was hoping Evanescence would put together for their second album, I ended up liking it quite a bit more than The Open Door.

Yeah, lacuna coil is one of the best hard rock bands from italy. I also like epica and nightwish. I think they are more than hard rock.
