How has the Behringer DCX helped your system?

The BFD has only 2 inputs and far less power. The DCX can do just about anything to your response curve. The BFD requires a lot more work to do the same things. Both work with REW, but for me dynamic EQ is the greatest alluring attribute of the DCX. This means I can change my eq with volume levels.

So if I really want to crank it I can protect my drivers. Or if I want to go low and give up some volume I can do that too.

I'm aware of the superiority of the DCX, I still think it's overkill for simply EQ'ing a sub.

If the OP has more than EQ in mind that is great and I will gracially bow out of the way since I don't own a DCX.

I think they are both overkill for a sub honestly, but we are audiophiles. Overkill seems to be our motto.:D

Since when did accuracy become overkill.. :D

Audiophools would cringe at the thought of using an 'adjustable' EQ device such as the DCX ... ;)

I thank WmAx, as after loudspeakers it was the biggest change to my system.

With it u are almost entering Sound Engineer territory.

Given the price of a DCX in a true hard core environment, it is a mere pittance.

Now, if you only have $1000 setup then yes, it may be overkill.

If you have more in the range of $7-$10K setup then it is a drop in the bucket.

The only thing stopping me is the lack of unbalanced inputs on the DCX.

you need to get a avr or a pre/pro with balanced inputs then :D
LOL. Actually, it's a bit more than that. I have a Yamaha RX-V2500 and i'm not sure how i'd hook it up without using the Yamaha as a Pre Pro and having to buy another amp.
