My budget is exactly 150$ I want floorstanding or bookshelf. The room I need to cover is a gaming room and it's 10' by 8'. I already have a receiver so don't worry about that. :D

Right now I am leaning towards the Sony floorstanding model ss-f5000 or the bookshelf ss-b3000. (I'm buying off of ebay) I have looked around and these are the ones I can find in my budget range that I like.

Read this article and I think you'll have a good start on some quality budget bookshelf speakers.

Vann's has the Mirage OMNI 150 in your price range.

The ELT525M's are great speakers, but I'm hesitant to endorse them considering all the issues Av123 is having as of late.

Best bookshelf pair under 150 out there that I've heard.

If it must be off ebay. Pick up a pair of Infinity Beta 20s

You also may want to look at the new WAF-1 from tweakcityaudio.com

My first pick would be the Behringers 2030p.

Some other speakers to look at are the Infinity Beta 20 on ebay, and The Speaker Company may have some offerings in that price range.

The 2030s are nice but you will need sub. I had a pair in home for demo and crossed them @ 100hz with just one sub and they sounded very well. If you are not going to use a sub, do not push them hard.

Actually you make a good point. If you don't have a sub and don't plan on getting one, I would have to recommend the betas over the behringers.

If you like bass I would suggest something like P5-PR 5.25" 2-way Bookshelf Speaker (Pair) + http://www.thespeakercompany.com/ASW-8-8-Subwoofer-P61C17.aspx

Other wise I would pick up the infinity beta 20s off ebay and be done.

FYI, Musician's Friend and Guitar Center have both matched the price of ZZ Sounds at $149 for the 2030p.

You will probably want at least a small sub with them though, with a -3dB of 75Hz.

Not to be a voice in the wilderness of Behringer hurrahs, but here is another option for you to consider. We blind compared the Behringer to a number of bookshelf speakers (review already linked), and this one slightly outperformed it. http://store.audioholics.com/product/1175/0/yamaha-ns-6490-3-way-bookshelf-speakers--pair-

If you're not going to use a subwoofer with the speakers, the Yamaha will give you more depth and powerful presence. It's right on your budget, including shipping.

Happy hunting.

The ELT525Ms are very good. If you don't want to get it from AV123 directly, forum member alphaiii has a set in cherry for sale for $160 shipped. Maybe you can PM him about getting them for $150.

The Beta 20s are very good. I got a pair for about $80 and I am absolutely amazed at them. They perform better at rock than classical, though.

That one review sucked though. It was just some opinions from people. Not a single shred of data to back anything up.

For the price I don't think it would be a bad choice at all.

I'd be willing to own a pair.
