Hello guys & gals,

M new to this community.........so starting a new thread..........m gonna buy a 5.1 or 7.1 A/V receiver with 5.1 or 7.1 speaker set nd gonna hook it up wid ma pc..........initially i will use analog m/c inputs for the receiver......but soon m gonna buy new sound card wid optical or coaxial output..........i have 19" LCD monitor wid HDMI input........ma budget is 25k to 30k INR max.......nd ma room size is 12' x 14'..............plz suggest me a good 5.1 or 7.1 A/V receiver @ this price range & also plz mention where can i get from Kolkata............

In India (Kolkata), check for a dealer of Yamaha products. Or Denon products too.
Just ignore Sony and Philips, they are below Yamaha and Denon, as far sound quality and build are concern.

Well buddy, I don't live in India, so I'm not familiar with the prices over there.
Just check what you can get for your 30k INR, in Denon or Yamaha receivers.
They are both good, so no problem there.

* What speakers are you using (brand and model numbers)?

** I think that ar.prasath gave you some real good tips already. You should really consider that Denon DHT-390xp HTIB (AVR-390). It is right on target with your budget of 30k INR. I don't think you'll go wrong with Denon quality products. Just get it, and if you don't like it, bring it back for a full refund. But I really doubt that you won't like it.
I love all my Denon components, and for many years too.

Not here, in India, your family in India.
We just told you one Denon model # and also if I recall, one Yamaha model # too. Check the audiophile people over there in India from your village or town or city. Ask the well knowledgeable people from your country, I'm sure there are some wise audio people close to where you live. The world is infested of Audioholics. They are everywhere, behind the city limits, in the showers, at the bars, at the zoo, at home relaxing, underground, in the air flying very high, EVERYWHERE.

Go to the audio stores of your neighborhood, check it out. Google Denon and Yamaha India from your computer, see what you can find.
Or do you want to pay for our air fares?

Anyway, I'm sure you'll find something with the help of Google and your close friends (just like us ).

Everybody want something gud. With real transister, and not hand made.

Just concentrate on Yamaha & Denon HTIB products in your price range (25 to 30k INR).

dude u can try onkyo hts 3200 htib.. which comes within 30k.. it has hdmi out for vidoe. n optical in for audio.. check with ur local onkyo dealer

sorry for such a late reply.............thats really gonna help me............thnx a ton...............1 thing i shud let u know...........i called ProFX today.....they told me that they only sell the denon receiver since the speakers of denon are not so good so they sell Polk speakers with denon.............nd they can't tell me the xact price for those recievers coz they need the room size..............after that they will prepare the suitable system for me........approx. min. cost will be near about 40k.......... i cant afford that much.........so i was bit depressed.......................but your last info gave me some light................................nd i have in mind for Onkyo also...........will update u soon...........

sorry........again i have to disturb u all.............i asked promises instuments regarding Onkyo HT-S5105.......they told me it will cost me 39,990 INR........is it ok???coz its way over my budget..........look i can compromise with HDMI video input/output but not with analog 5.1 channel input & optical/coaxial input.............nd i am looking for HTiB with preamp subwoofer output..........coz active subs are always better than passive ones..............onkyo HT-S3100/S3105 have passive subs..............please suggest any other HTiBs within my price range which have analog 5.1 channel input with preamp sub output..........thnx in advance.............
