I would have to agree. At what point does a cop stop looking the other way? A gram of crack? 2 grams, 5 grams? 2 MPH over the speed limit? 5, 10,15? Does it make a difference if it’s a highway, city street, family neighborhood? Stealing $1, $10, $100, $100000...Slapping your spouse, punching, kicking, stabbing? 5% light blocked by tint, 15%, 50%…see? Too much room for indecision and interpretation rather than just plain enforcement. If window tint is not legal, it’s not legal for you, for me, for everyone. I’m sure the officer would have rather been busting a drug dealer or “wife beater”, and if a more urgent call came through while he was writing your citation for illegal window tint, he would have left you to your own means and been on his way. That was not the case, he did his job - he enforced a law by re-enforcing to you that something you had done broke a law, and you shouldn’t repeat this offense, nor speed, nor deal drugs, nor steal, nor assault….and on and on.
