Hi guys,

Well, the two top contenders are the Yamaha RX-V765, (the RX-V1065 seems overpriced to me) and possibly the Onkyo PR-SC886P so far. This will of course be a pre-amp/processor. But I'm sort of in a holding pattern for now. If I get one it will be closer to Fall. The 1015 is still performing well.

Have you given any thought to the Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH or VSX-23TXH? The 21 is looking good to me, depending on the street price once it gets released.

Yep, also a possiblity. I really like the 7.2 feature of the Yamaha though, which is why it's high on my list of contenders so far.

Not, yet. I want to get a new receiver (well, pre/pro like you) first. This Ultra still rocks the place and sounds great, and I haven't felt anything lacking in the bass department. Every now and then I get the urge to buy something, and a second Ultra is an easy thing for my mind to fixate on because I know that I like SVS gear. I'd want to get their AS-EQ1, too, and that's another $700 - so I tend to stop thinking about it fairly quickly because the total price goes over $2k.

Boy, no kiddin' on the price going up fast. It's hard living on a budget.... I'm certain my next upgrade will be the receiver (pre/pro) though, as the time has come. I think I can sneek one in and change it out without my wife noticing...

OK. So I've decided on getting a Pioneer Elite SC-25 as a receiver/pre-amp. I like my VSX 1015 and how it blends with the Emotiva amp, so the 25 Elite should be a nice step up. Haven't made the purchase yet, but it's close..
