The type of jack on your reciever has a metal cover type thing with little barbed pins that hold it onto the jack. It will probbaly still work if you can get the rca plug to stay on because the center conductor is still intact and rca jacks commonly share a ground so if theres more than one cable going to your amplifier etc then it will have already created the ground path. You could also just rip off the metal cover from another jack thats not being used and use it in place there. this is easy to do, just get tight fitting rca cords and plug it into the jack you want to pull off, then give it a side to side or up and down motion while you pull it off.
