A couple of months after we moved to our new apartment, I met the wife of my neighbour outside and I asked her that do they here us when we watch movies (and this is after doing several speaker test and watching movies at night), she says no they do not hear anything. And I told her please if you do hear lets us know so we are aware of reaching the limit.

Several months later the husband knocks on the door yelling all sorts of crap that they cant stand the noise anymore. Here I'm surprised. I went to them the next day to apologise with my wife, this guy just bangs the door.

Yesterday he comes to tell me that he does want to hear bangs during day time. I have an 8 hour day job so I definately do not play music during the day. And when I return from work for a while I just sit behind my computer before I start playing music just to relax me. So either this guy has a supersonic hearing or my hearing is impaired.

Hell I listen to music mostly in pure direct mode so I dont know what his deal is. Yeah I might have broken the rule but what ever happened to communication between adults.

Anyway I just needed to vent.

Some people are more attuned to certain frequencies, and are bothered by them. From your position, you’re getting the full spectrum of sound, whereas he may only be getting the bass. He hones in on this, and decides it bugs him. Rather than trying to deal with you on a level befitting his age, he’s taking out his frustration on you (likely some of which has nothing to do with you).

If he’s unwilling to deal with you in a reasonable manner, go to the manager of the apartments and ask him/her to be the moderator. Try to beat him there as this will show your willingness to rectify the situation, rather than the manager hearing the complaint of an angry tenant first.

It's possible his wife did not communicate to her him that you had courteously told her that if you had reached a output limit they thought was unreasonable to let you know so you can curtail the output. Sounds like this guy is definitely a horses rear end in either case.

J/K of course,from now on dont waste your time going to the evil neighbors door you never know what will happen on their turf stay safe at home if they have a problem let them come to you,with your wife in the distance close to the phone.Neighbors can get unruly and that could affect your safety.

as one with extreme hearing sensitivity it's not easy to deal with noise. This is why I bought earplug head phones. Noise can interrupt my thinking. Of course once my system is complete I will be the noise maker hehe.

I hear it too,and brother I live on about an acre,my shop is right up against the property line and some nights the neighbor lady is just beside herself or her husband is beating her up but whatever she is loud.I leave the shop and walk up the drive to my house just so not to hear,then I feel so average

I am so glad that I don't have neighbors close enough to hear my system. I'd be tempted to read the rules closely and make as much noise as possible within those rules. But then I wouldn't do it. I'd just get pissed.

One of my neighbors and I share a front yard (no fence to seperate the two) and he purposley sabotages my lawn. Mine is greener than his and he hates it. He has encased one of my sprinkler heads in cement than buried it (like I wouldn't notice) and just this past week he removed the two valve housing units (next to my house) and turned off all the valves so my sprinkler heads would't pop up when the timer activated them. His adult sons who live with him are great nice guys and I get along great with them, but this guy just hates my lawn.

Here's another theory: maybe the wife is deaf and she just read your lips while you were asking her....or maybe she was from a foreign country and didn't understand s...t, so she just said "no" to whatever you were saying just to get out of the way (my wife doesn't speaks too much English so at times she just runs away whenever people start talking to her)... either way she doesn't give a rat's ***.

If you tried to be nice and the guy has continuously been rude and aggressive. I would tell him to go F himself next time.

Geez John. What happens when they make you mad? You don't turn all green and start flexing your muscles do you? Here I thought you was a very laid-back type of guy..........hhhmmmm........imagine that!
