:D! LOL

Croseiv! You are so funny! As you know, I did the same thing when I received the Marantz amp! Removed the box and immediately took photos and posted them!

The XPA-5 looks good, man! And the center channel is very impressive also. it reminds me of my Polk Audio CS400i. Almost the same dimensions. I'm sure the dialogue coming from the center will be greatly enhanced.

Now Croseiv, I know you have measured and then measured again, and then one more time;), the area designated for the amp. Are you confident that the space is adequate for good ventilation?

I know you must be so excited! Congrats on the new additions.

Regards.

Here's a few shots more with eveything set up. Man I love the way it sounds straight out of the box! The center sounds much fuller and more airy. I felt like I could turn the knob on the avr all the way up (but not with the wife home...:D). But the most immediate impression was much, much better mid bass and airy highs (more punch). The center seems to integrate very well with the RT7s! Very pleased indeed. Still need to really tweak everything, but WOW has it surpassed my expectations in every way. Just super.

Glad your liking it, man it looks good !!!!
Man, I 'm quite impressed. I thought the Pioneer could crank. The Emo really sounds better than I imagined it would. Mainly the midbass punch it gives the front stage. But overall the dynamics are much enhanced. I really can tell a difference. :) Going from 110 wpc to 250 wpc makes quite a difference. The Polks are handling it very well. I re-ran my Avia II calibration disk and found the XPA-5 was boosting my LCR mains by 2 dB, but they were all level matched. So I just had to bump them down a couple of dB from where they were before. I'm really diggn' the ERM-6.2 center as well. Very nice speaker.

Great shots and nice setup indeed, wonderful :D

You say it integrates very well, so you don't really sense any difference in sound from center and main channels?
being different speakers... tuned differently...

The amp didn't even get warm to the touch after 2 hours of Ratatouille at 15 dB below reference. I really like how the amp/speaker(s) sound. The wife is going to be out of the house for a few hours this evening, so I get a chance to crank it.

I love how the Polks/ERM-6.2 sound together. Even though the center is sealed and the RT7s are ported...

Thanks there PD! I'm diggin' it right now. I don't think the XPA-5 even senses the little RT7s...Very pleased with the sound though.:)

I know exactly what you mean.. it almost happend to me either!

BTW, congrats on your new purchase. It seems to be a killer center indeed.
Agree with you about the heating level of the Emo's though, as I've been playing hours & hours and my UPA-7 gets barely warm to the touch, at reference levels. My Denon 2809 gets warmer than the Emo... Go figure!

Regards, Chuck

Why do I have a feeling that new speakers will be in your house within the year?

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with the sound. But I have sort of considered the possibilty of upgrading the speakers eventually. Whether or not that's next on this list is still out...I would also like to get a more recent AVR with HDMI capability and on-board True HD/DTS MA decoding capability as well.

So what's next purchase?
Two more Ultra-13's :D:D
Man, two more Ultras would get me kicked out of the neighborhood for sure!!!:D For now I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the improved sound my speakers are giving me via the XPA-5.

I'll give you advice

Never ever listen to the Dynaudio Contour series, coz then you would want new speakers......
