Dave I read that while I was waiting to get my hair cut awhile back. It's a great read! Of the new retro cars, I have to cast my vote for the Challenger first, with the Mustang and Camaro tied at second. I saw the new Camaro at the car show here in January. I just plain don't like the interior, especially the dash. While it has cues from the old "69 model, I think they would have been better off using the '67-68 interior with the current exterior. Wheels with a nice dish instead of the flat looking ones would be my preference as well. I hate flat wheels.
All that coming from a real GM fan. When I was looking for a newer car for my work, I wound up with a Dodge.
I looked hard but kept coming back to the Charger. I like big cars, so my choices were limited. I kept trying to like the Impala, really, as I was driving an "03, but they just don't have the curb appeal of the Challenger to me. Sorry, Buck! They can't keep up with the Hemi, either. MPG is hands down in favor of the Chev, though. If I bought one, it would be just like Buck's except I would change the wheels.
I found the Charger on Fleabay. It was a one owner, in like new condition with a lot of mods/extras. I got it for a song, especially when you consider the adds: SRT8 hood, 20" wheels and tires, lowering/handling springs, custom rocker plates, paint protector, undercoating, leather treatment, Blue Star headlights and custom floor mats to list a few. It also came factory with the track and performance option as well as everything you could order on the R/T except a sunroof (if you don't include the Daytona or SRT8 editions).
