the difference really is that i've already seen the full versions. (in the theater) and the EE's just provides more of what i want to see (don't remember exactly what was added)
Lots of good stuff added. The most important stuff was in Return of the King, but the others had mostly useful stuff as well.

i mean, if there was a LOTR 4 or 1.5 or 2.5 ... i'd be all over it :) (even if it was the short version)
That would be The Hobbit :D Prequel.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should order these or not. I'm a huge LotR fan, and I really want to see them in HD. I've never seen the extended versions, but I hear they are good. All the die hard fans say to just wait for the EE vesion on blu-ray. Some people seem to think that the EE blu-ray version won't be out until 2011 or 2012. Should I order the theatrical release or wait?

If you are having trouble deciding, go rent or buy the EEs. I think that will help you easily make the decision.

Yeah! That's exactly what I'm going to to, rent them on blu-rays.

Then later on, when the Extented Editions will be released, I will purchased them or it, because it will probably be The LOTR Definitive Trilogy Extended Edition Box Set. :D
Let say, maybe by Christmas this year? :)

By the year 2011 or 2012, there will be a newer High Res. format, say 4k?

LOTR ;)
