I know it'll be posted as soon as someone sees it, so I wanted to be the first. :)

Go on, discuss, you know you want to.
I just want to know where all the "share YOUR wealth" was on Mr. Os tax returns for the early 2000s when less than 1% of his and hers income went to charity. I do more than that with 2 local churches:rolleyes:

Last time I checked, "when you spread the wealth around, it's better for everyone" applied to taxes. According to these figures:

AGI = 2656902
Tax = 855323

Percentage = 32%

I wonder, how many people that criticize are the same people that "give to charity" an amount less than $3k that they don't have to provide documentation for? Cuz I know quite a few in my own day to day interactions...

I had no idea that the percentage of money one donates to charity is a determining factor in that person's worth. Those good Christian beliefs in action I guess... I must be worthless, because there are no charitable donations on my tax forms.

Yes good Christians everywhere, you should feel outraged that your savior died just so he could be blocked out on TV, because that's what's important. I love how this is getting more publicity than the molesting of little church boys. For those with SRD (Selective Reading Disorder), the university was asked to cover up all signage and symbols, not just those of Jesus' name. SRD and SLD (Selective Listening Disorder) are horrible conditions indeed.

I wonder, did all those people take personal time from work to attend these tea parties? Or do they just not work? Or are they collecting unemployment, which is meant to sustain people financially while they look for employment? Did they go to the tea parties with resumes in hand? Oh the wonders of life...

Who ever said charitable contributions have to go to a religious organization? There are all kinds of worthy charities that aren't churches. Food banks, women's shelters, schools and others can all be good ways to help people if you don't want to deal with religions. Hell, for that matter, wait outside the unemployment office and wait until you see someone who "deserves" a handout and give them five bucks for lunch.

You know, taxes are unfairly biased against single filers generally. People say that we "punish" the successful. If that's the case, aren't we also punishing people who do not marry? Look at the tax rate schedules and you will see what I mean.

I for one am not married to my life partner, and we pay higher taxes than a couple who makes more than use but is married. That married couple can also reap greater tax credits than we can. I also do not complain about this, but I wonder why the public has never displayed outrage over this obviously unfair treatment of people who choose to not get married.

Seperation of church and state? Where? I'd like to see it. I only see it existing in the fact that the church does not pay taxes, period, and married people can have a greater seperation between their finances and the state by being married.

And any married person who says it's more expensive to be married obviously hasn't been in a monogamous relationship without marriage, because that's certainly not always the case.

But a couple who isn't married but are retired and collecting Social Security collect more than a married, retired couple.

Liberals tend not to be as charitable because they believe the government should take care of people. Not the private sector.......
