A friend of mine watched Shooter like six times. This movie is not for him.
The acting is what you would expect from Streep and Hoffman; great, completely believable. I can say that because I have had a nun as a teacher, have attended mass more in the past year than in the past ten and have done it with a priest ... was that too predictable? :D :p Anyway I liked the movie and the title is perfect. I also wanted to beat j garcia to the review because I saw it first.

I am not a fan of Streep but may see it for Hoffmans performance. Glad you liked it Alex.....

LOL. I won't be watching it until Wed. actually because my g/f has class. And just for that, I won't tell you what is next in my queue :D :p

I don't think Streep is one of the best actresses of all time, but I do like her in certain roles. Hoffman is just great in everything I've seen him in; even Twister haha. F O O D.

The reason Streep gets the kudos that she does is that she can play just about any character you throw at her, and do so in a very believable manner. This is one actress who will never get typecast.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I thought ALL of the actors gave excellent performances; particularly Amy Adams and Hoffman. Streep was great as expected as well, though I am not sure I would call it her best work.

We just watched it last night. Solid acting from everyone, even from the kids. It’s great when all the elements of a movie can make it so believable. I have yet to see Hoffman turn in a bad performance.

No special effects (save for a few wind machines), music didn’t play a big role, and even the way the “issue” was handled…the fact that it was all so believable makes for a really great drama. High marks all around

My Catholic school upbringing had me laughing at the opening scenes. It was as real as my memories of those years.

I thought that the movie was well done.
