Since I have spent a considerable amount of time & money building a decent home theater, the allure of going out to a movie theater has lost a lot of its magic. We still take the kids because I want them to have the experience, but when The Jonas Brothers 3D experience clocks in at $15 a ticket…
Personally, I like being in control of when the movie starts, how loud it is, pausing if need be, the price of concessions…etal. I also find that more often than not, the picture quality on my display is better than the screen in the theater.
It’s unfortunate, but when I see a preview for a new movie, I know I’ll be waiting even longer for it to come out on disc before I’ll be seeing it. But, it’s worth the wait for me.
So, what about the rest of you - do you still make the trip to the theater, or wait for the movie to be released on disc? Or do you see it in the theater, and if you like it, get the disc when it’s released.
Options:
1. I can’t wait - I’m going to the theater
2. My HT will be primed & ready to go when the movie is out on disc
3. See it in the theater & on disc
