A friendly suggestion

I'd like to make a friendly suggestion for 'all' to remove the blinders of both political parties.

In America, the two party system is divided into two main camps; Republicans and Democrats.
Today, many naturally assume that both parties strive to achieve separate goals and often oppose each other on important issues.

However, on closer observation the actions of the two parties in the past several years reveals that, while on the surface we see quarrels between them, when it comes to the foundational issues of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, they find common ground in their often outright attacks on liberty.

The result is a gradual and incremental degradation of liberty, with both political parties leading us to believe they are furthering the cause of their side.
While we blindly cheer on the destruction of our own freedom.

Governments today distract people from prescient issues by focusing on ones of lesser or petty significance.
The strategy is quite simple; by dividing large groups of individuals into smaller ones, a potentially threatening force is broken.
Morale is stifled, unity non-existent, and instead of the people focusing their anger and resentment toward their true oppressors, they fight amongst themselves.

This is the attitude that needs to spread in this country for the people to make a difference. The problem is that attitudes and ideas such as this get squashed by the government media machine. Citizens need to be proactive at spreading these ideas on their own.

What I think we need is for the general population to learn that government has two parties and three main branches so they can act as checks and balances, not so one party can win at the elections and be all happy about it. One branch that wants to take control needs to be tempered by the others and when the one that's out of control is bad enough, they need to be limited/stopped and punished. What we have now is a Legislative branch that is sportin' for the top of the Executive Branch, which puts them at a 2-1 majority over the Supreme Court. That's a problem and if left unchecked, means that there will be no power to stop them from taking away our freedoms. With those two branches in bed together, Amendments can be eliminated, added and modified.

This is exactly why I don't like the fact that Obama taught Constitutional Law for over ten years. He has had a lot of time to find ways around the Constitution and our system of government.

Yeah, it sounds paranoid, until it happens.

This seems to be the common rhetoric and banter of many folks. But I think its very untrue.

How has your freedom been limited in the last however many years? Give specific examples that are the direct result of the government.

I have not been limited except in areas where it is necessary. For example. I'm not allowed to drive 100 MPH on the interstate, but this is for our safety and with the drivers on Texas roads I think the limit is to high at 70.
