How to burn blu ray movies?

i just got a new dell xps 435 and it has a blu ray player and blu ray burner. i know how to download movies (regular axxo or fxg) and burn those. i dont know if i can just download movies that say/claim 1080p in the title and using a program burn those onto a blu ray disc. i have no idea if any1 has a clue plz let me know. also if there is a burning program let me know of that as well.
also is the quality going to be 1080p?

From what I've seen (not exhaustive research) HD storage is much cheaper than BD blanks.
I did a proof of concept and burned a BD to my htpc and played it as an ISO. It worked great. I had been doing that with all my daughters regular movies, so will probably do that for any new BD we buy her. She's three so a little hard on discs

So with anydvd hd you can rip a blu ray to an .iso and mount it with daemon tools, or alcohol 120, just the same as you can with a regular dvd?
