You will soon, I have the same plan and I just got the following email:I'm getting two BR at a time and haven't received any email like that.
I've had to call them a couple of times and there was a very short or no wait to talk to a live person. This was ~6 months ago so YMMV.Yeah, they must be email blasting all the members. I wouldn’t mind so much if I didn’t have to wait longer to see the BD I have on my list
Am I right in saying it’s next to impossible to contact Netflix?
It kind of irritates me, but the price is still lower than buying one movie so I am not too concerned over it. So far the service has been excellent and I will continue to use them for now, though I don't think this email serves to really justify that increase to me. I read here that they were looking at changing the shipping packaging for BDs, so it would make a little sense to increase it, but at the same time, I haven't had a problem yet and I rent almost exclusively Blus from them. You are receiving this email because you added unlimited Blu-ray access to your account for $1 a month. The number of Blu-ray titles has increased significantly and will continue to do so. As we buy more, you are able to choose from a rapidly expanding selection of Blu-ray titles. And as you've probably heard, Blu-ray discs are substantially more expensive than standard definition DVDs.
As a result, the monthly charge for Blu-ray access is increasing for most plans and will now vary by plan. The charge for monthly Blu-ray access on your 1 DVD at-a-time (Unlimited) plan will increase from $1 a month to $2 a month. The price of your 1 DVD at-a-time (Unlimited) plan is not changing and remains at $8.99 a month.
Thanks John for the info. This is one reason I started the Poll on the Netflix vs. BB. That is, I want to save some money as my local BB charges $4.99 for each BR rental.I started using them to save money and it has worked. The cost of the service, even with the price increased, is still cheaper than buying one BD; and I am watching about 3 a week on a less busy week. Not really complaining, just seems like an odd time for them to increase their pricing - likely due to greater demand for BDs now, so they are going to need to expand on their catalog.
