Acoustic product advice
Late to the posting but if you want REAL benifits from treating a room correctly, go to a real acoustical company, who scientificaly measures products, charts everything, and whose results are posted with the Acoustical Society. RPG Diffusor Inc. rpginc.com FYI: FOAM IS FOAM! 1" is 1", 2" is 2" and so on... The only difference is that in RPG profile which is patented, the 1" measures like a 2" piece because of the air cavity behind the curve. other than that only two other variables should go into your decision; Aestetic look, and Class A fire rating. I know RPG has a Class A rated product and Sonex used to make one. Drop in tiles, wall panels, foam, wood, Gypsum, Kydex, Fiberglass & acrylics, your call... search RPG website, but a word of caution; You will spend a LOT of time reading about projects, then products, then test results.... Good luck As an audio consultant and an A/V consultant, I have heard good studios, bad studios, and great rooms.
have been in rooms with $1,000,000 worth of gear, and without a properly designed room treatment, no amount of gear with help your soundstage!
