Does anyone on this site feel guilty

So you really were allowed to run around with a loaded weapon? That's supposed to make me feel safer? I do get a thrill out of knowing you put your *** on the line for jerks like me. I would thank you except that I don't feel we've been in a justified military action since WWII. If that sticks in your craw, then build a bridge and get over it. I didn't say you were a reactionary pig because you served in the military. You are a reactionary pig because of your lack of introspection, conscience and obvious lack of basic reading skills. I spent a year in India, is that third world enough for ya? A perceptive reader would have realized my comment about you being responsible for a large part of the world living in poverty was not serious, just trying to match your statement with "irony." Look it up.
For your information I was a medic. I got shot at without being able to shoot back. Trying to make up for being rude arrogant and narrow minded by continuing to make personal comments about me is rather juvenile. Maybe you should have spent more time in India building bridges or whatever.

My original post was at least partially misunderstood. I've experienced how the have nots live. I feel no guilt about my circumstances. Actually I'm quite grateful I don't have to live like that.

Fortunately for me my living expenses are quite low. NO MORTGAGE!!!!! Consequently I can spend money on just about any toy I want (Ferrari's not included).
Actually, I'd like to think I'm doing the world some good. Most of my gear was purchased used so I'm helping keep the size of landfills down. My tendency to keep stuff for a long time is also counter productive to land fills. I think everyone should buy more stuff and keep it. Keep those land fills from growing!

PS: Throwing vinyl away? Don't do it. Send it to me. I'll pay for shipping and handling. Gotta keep those land fills from growing.

PPS: Some of what I just wrote was supposed to be humorous. Don't wanna be misunderstood!!!!

Deadeye, I sincerely apologize for being a prick. I overreacted. Of course you aren't responsible for the world's woes (no more than any of us). I was being silly but it sounded serious. That was my bad. Again, sorry man.

It's quite easy to misunderstand and be misunderstood in this venue. There's a lot of that going around everywhere. After trying to converse with "Lamont Sanford" over at Stereophile's site my skin has gotten rather thick. In person you probably don't hear "smile when you say that pardner". Mr. Sanford probably does. Apology heartliy accepted. I also offer mine to you.
That said, I'm going to indulge myself with The Rite Of Spring. I'll be doing this on tube driven ESL's bi-amped with dual 12" transmission line subs. I'll be playing a lot of vinyl today in celebration of smaller land fills! Time to drink the beer I just opened. Let the music begin!

I'm reminded of Mel Brooks' History Of the World Part II. Someone asks Count DeMoney what about the poor. He responds by saying "F**k the poor".:D

That sounds like it's going to kick azz. Which performance, Boulez, Thomas? Wait, can't be the last can it, too recent . . .

Can you PM a pic? :D:D

Count DeMoney was saying what Marie Antoinette said before the French Revolution, "Let them eat cake." Nothing is worse than indifference to suffering. It looks like we're all in for an uncomfortable ride as financial institutions all over the world are self-destructing. At the root of it all is greed...it must be an irresistible feeling to those in positions of financial power, because look at what they've done.

Lorin Maazel and the Cleveland Telarc DG-10054. It's the only one I have on vinyl. My man cave is so dark this crappy digital camera I have doesn't work properly. I intend posting some shots as soon as I get a new camera. They're Acoustat Spectra 22's with DIY El-Pipe-O subs.

To them we are the poor! Those who get 7 figure bonuses for bankrupting a company surely don't think like us. I remember reading somewhere that Marie Antoinette really didn't say that. No matter, she's stuck with the credit for it.
