Why kind of problem did you have? Did you have an issue with ordering, issues after placing an order, issues with shipping, or issues after you received the product?

Ordered the Yamaha RX-V565 last Friday, but it would appear that they don't have any in stock when I called yesterday, yet the website states in stock.. I ordered it Monday, my credit card was charged a few moments later, but they don't expect it until next week, but that's a big maybe. I've never had a website do false advertising on a product and get caught doing it...

Most sites don't have their inventories linked directly to their websites, it's best to call up front to get the most accurate information.

If that's the case, if its new and you don't have it, why advertise it?? Sounds like your making excuses for the store.

No idea if they have inventory linked to the store (IMO they should, I'll accept the omission of that feature readily on smaller or specialized web stores but that doesn't seem to describe the Audioholics store) but I would have hoped that if it were not available someone would contact you promptly during business hours once your order has been submitted.

Not at all.

I don't know if they had it and sold out or haven't received shipment yet, like I said it's best to call ahead.

Did you order it Friday or Monday after you called?

I ordered it Friday. I called yesterday morning, and spoke with the owner. He said that he was getting a delivery today. Hoping it was on the truck. He never e-mailed the status, so I sent an e-mail and got this back @ 2:47AM this morning:

Hi Joe,

No, it looks like the RX-V565's have not shipped yet. Yamaha informed us this afternoon that the current shipment will be here on Wednesday, but only contains our RX-V465 order. I'm afraid I do not have a firm date from Yamaha on the RX-V565 shipment, but we are guessing it will be next week.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I've had the same thing happen to me with other internet sites. I HATE it when a company tells you that a product is in stock, takes your money, and then doesn't ship you anything.

It's just one of those things you have to beware of when dealing over the internet. Having been burned in the past, I tend to call up internet companies and verify that they do indeed have the product in stock before I place an order.

They already charged you?

Most folks don't charge you until they ship an order.

Was that the huge sale item though? If so I wouldn't be surprised that they sold out quickly. Still setting up inventory tracking and tying to your stores front end isn't that difficult to do. And is recommended for management purposes. Life is easier that way and less work is required.

If you got a great deal then it's worth the wait IMO. If not then I would ask for your money back and go elsewhere. That type of response isn't acceptable IMO. In fact I would have informed you immediately that it was a back order and then refunded your money. Then I would have emailed you the second one was available to give you first dibs at it again.

But we all have our way of doing things. I'm sure they want to be helpful. I suggest being cordial and kind to customer service. Remember they want to help you. Especially if you are nice.;)

Agreed, regardless of what happened behind the scenes I think the Audioholics store has very responsive and helpful customer support based on my experience. I would definitely see how they can help you out because I'm sure they will.

While your experience is not one I would consider acceptable I imagine they will want to make it right.

But the thing that hurts most is that its this site causing the issues... I would never have thought Audioholics would pull this....

which is why I purchased it from here, thinking it was a reputably place... Man was I wrong!

Nobody's perfect and while it's easy to point fingers. The best approach is to get the issue resolved. The situation while frustrating isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of all that's going on these days. Your best approach is to seek to resolve the manner behind closed doors. I suggest you call them and kindly ask them to refund your money. Be cordial and reasonable. Talking to the forum while helpful to others isn't always the best way to resolve things. I have had customers that had all kinds of issues that I could have gotten really pissed about and yet I gave them a chance to correct the issue. We all make mistakes. The Audioholics store isn't immune to them either. Call them and cordially let them know of your frustration. Remember if you play your cards right you might end up better off in the end. I find that things in my life always show up just when I need them too. And not a second too soon or too late. Maybe your being stalled for a reason. This could also be a sign that the receiver isn't for you. Think about it and go with your gut. You won't regret it.

Maybe if your patience holds out they will make it worth the wait a little added bonus :D or some discount towards another item "in stock of course" sometimes things happen that spiral out of control, hang in there.

I would call and talk to the owner himself and see if he can work with you on something in stock or throw in some free shipping or something.

Most internet businesses drop ship from other warehouses and suppliers. Little to no physical inventory is kept in stock. This is how they can carry such large variety of items. But alas they too are at the mercy of another company's inventory accuracy or promised shipping dates.

But this is also how we are able to convienently shop from our own home instead of driving to a store that has to pay huge costs to maintain a retail showroom, a distribution center, a large physical inventory, maintain the associated personnel expenses and other overhead costs related to a "bricks and mortar" type of business.

Welcome to the "World Market". It caters to our laziness.

I've already spoke with them over the phone. My point is that anyone and everyone can still "buy" it, even though its not in stock. That's fraud in anyone's book...

Have your requested your refund?

Edit: I'm trying to move this along as it's not going to turn into a 14 page bashfeast.

Yes, you can still buy them and they will ship in the order in which orders are received. When we sell out, we take backorders just like any other internet store.

Your order did come in right after we sold out of these. We have dozens of these on order from Yamaha - and were expecting more last week but they have not shipped and we currently have no ETA on when we will get them. We do not drop-ship any Yamaha products - they ship from our Michigan warehouse. We do our best to maintain inventory status on the site, but as others have mentioned it can be extremely difficult to keep this updated in real-time.

As far as your order is concerned, we can offer you a few options for the inconvenience that this delay has created: 1. a free upgrade to the RX-V663 (in stock) or RX-V665 (not yet released, ETA is currently early April). 2. a refund in the meantime, and charge your card when the RX-V565 you ordered is ready to ship, along with a free YDS-11SL iPod dock. 3. a full refund if you would rather cancel the order.

I think that you will find we are the most accomodating store in the industry, and will always offer a free shipping or product upgrade when we feel we have made a mistake.
