Arizona, perhaps?
Either that or California. So far all of the callbacks have been from California. She got one from Bettis Labs in Idaho Falls too, but that job sounds like it is not very fun.

Can I ask a question about amps, not to hijack this thread, but If you guys could chime in. I was comparing the Anthem MCA 30 to the D-Sonic or W4S three channel amp and I noticed the Anthem has a very low distortion figure, compared to the other two, is this something that can be heard under normal listening. Thanks.

Hi. Are you asking about the total harmonic distortion (THD)?

03/04/2009 - I like the sound of that. Now I just have to convince my girl or my puppy to sign for it, or refuse it if it is beaten up, God forbid...

Weeeeeeee! Stop telling me to buy an amp, I am getting this toy and an amp won't do me much good with these \/ speakers! I need down payment money for my first house, then I can buy whatever I want! ;)

Then after that I will probably end up with a Denon AVR-3810 as a pre/pro (by that time it will be the '10 model I am guessing), unless the Outlaw 997 pre/pro is out and decent. No Integra for me probably because of Davemcc's experiences with lame service.

EDIT: Woohoo!
As I indicated in another thread, if given the choice I would still go with the DTC-9.8 all over again despite the CS issues in the Onkyo/Integra world. It's still a bargain in the dedicated pre/pro market and now that I have a perfect one, I'm kind of over my frustration. I'm like you in that I place a high value on CS. O.K., so Integra's not the best in that regard but sometimes it is a balance between that and what actually exists in the market to choose from. I wanted a dedicated pre/pro with my Rotel and didn't want a redundant amp section in a receiver so my choices were limited, especially given that Emo and Outlaw still haven't released their latest versions yet.

Anyhoo, I see you have the Denon on the way. Congrats. It's a nice unit and the Denon Personal Memory Plus is one great feature that's incredibly useful for fine tuning individual sources and settings. When it arrives, do like the Dawg and throw the manual away and ask the forum how to set it up. Trust me on that.;)

Thanks, Dave. I had followed your thread for a while but the last time I looked at it, you had just got the 9.8 back. I am glad it is working out though! I know the feeling of wanting the dedicated Pre/Pro, and I also totally understand your limited choices in the affordability range (I am sure you and I would both love the Anthems but don't have $6k+ just laying around to drop on one). A pre/pro will probably be the post-Denon step for me as well, for the same reason as you, whenever that may be. Hopefully there are a few more options by then - I like options. :)

Is it Wednesday yet?

I ordered Layer Cake blu-ray from Amazon that will be here Wednesday too, but I am more excited about the AVR...

I probably pay the UPS man's salary all by myself. :D

I have a converter box coming from Amazon on Wednesday, but I'm also more excited about you getting your AVR. :)

I did edit that a little just so that I could respond to that with ...
I'm actually at a loss for words! :D

Greg is right. Pile your g/f into the car and get up there with some cash.
You're not gonna ask what the g/f is for, are you?:D
This strategy will save you considerably more than 100 dollars.

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I sound like the California voting public. Do as you please. ;)

I have a bad feeling that Strube got the AVR, tried to read the manual, got confused and has now tried to hurt himself.

Poor little Strube...he could have just thrown the manual away and asked for help.....

He will be missed.

I just got back from class. I really, really, really wanted to skip, but I missed lots of class last week from being sick, and I stayed up all night working on some crappy homework that was due today :D. My girlie had to sign for it but it is here! Woohoo. Thanks for waiting though!

I am not even going to read the manual. That Batpig guy has it all lined out :).

Now I must get off this forum and go play with it!

EDIT: BTW, 6ave.com packages their stuff really well. It was double boxed in packing peanuts and the box for the AVR is flawless! Plus, shipping was free!
